Vogt (ankle) will not take part in any baseball activities this weekend, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports. Vogt sprained his left ankle trying to break up a double play Wednesday, and while X-rays were negative, the team has decided to play it safe and shut him down from baseball activities for a few days. A sore right foot has prevented Vogt from catching for most of the season, but he figures to continue seeing frequent playing time once his left ankle pain subsides, between right field, first base and DH.

Vogt (ankle) is out of the lineup Friday against the Astros. X-rays on Vogt's ankle were negative, but he'll miss at least one start after leaving Wednesday's game with the injury. The Astros are starting a lefty in Brett Oberholtzer on Friday, and it's at least possible that's the true reason for his absence, but consider Vogt day-to-day until he returns to the field.

Vogt, who was removed from Wednesday's game with a sprained left ankle, hopes to only miss a few days, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports. Luckily X-rays were negative after Vogt injured himself Wednesday sliding into second base, but it does sound as if owners should prepare to be without Vogt until at least the weekend.

Vogt was removed from Wednesday's game against the Mariners with a sprained left ankle, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Vogt had already been nursing a sore right foot that had prevented him from catching for most of the season, but the left ankle now represents a more pressing -- and potentially serious -- concern. An MRI is almost certainly in the cards for Vogt, as the Athletics look to determine the severity of the injury. If the sprain is revealed to be a multi-week injury, it could put the sinking Athletics in a tough spot offensively. Vogt cooled off in August, but he's still posted a .340 on-base percentage over 256 plate appearances.

Vogt is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mariners. Manager Bob Melvin has all but rid his lineup of lefty bats Tuesday against James Paxton, with the lone exception being Josh Reddick in right field. Vogt went 1-for-17 in his final six games of August to end the month with a .212/.247/.376 batting line, but his overall numbers are still strong and his platoon role appears relatively safe for the time being.

Vogt is out of the lineup Friday against the Angels. He's been receiving semi-regular playing time, starting five of the last nine games for the A's, but now that the outfield is fully healthy with Craig Gentry's activation from the DL Friday, we could see Vogt's playing time slip just a little further.

Vogt is out of the lineup Sunday against the Braves. Vogt will sit for the second time in three games and the third time in five. He is riding a three game hit streak, and has a hit in seven of his last eight games, but will yield the start in left to Jonny Gomes on Sunday.

Vogt is out of the lineup Friday against the Braves. Manager Bob Melvin has all but rid his lineup of (exclusively) lefty bats to take on left-hander Alex Wood, with the lone exception being outfielder Josh Reddick. The 29-year-old Vogt is still batting .233 for the month of August but he's picked it up of late, with five hits in his last two games, so he should continue to see regular time against right-handers.

Vogt isn't in the lineup Wednesday vs. the Royals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. With lefty Jason Vargas on the mound for the Royals, both Vogt and Brandon Moss will receive the day off while manager Bob Melvin plays matchups. Vogt noticed a drought in his production earlier in August, but seems to be back on track again, reeling off seven hits over his last 22 at-bats.

Vogt was 2-for-5 on Saturday and hit his seventh home run. Since breaking his 23 at-bat hitless streak on Thursday night, Vogt is 4-for-11 with two homers and four RBI. Vogt appears to be out of the slump and back to raking like he has throughout most of 2014. He currently sits at .320/.351/.506 through 178 at-bats and will continue to be in the lineup against all righties.
