Vogt went 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored and a solo home run Wednesday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Vogt led off the seventh inning with a home run, his seventh of the season. It was a nice moment to conclude Vogt's career, as he's set to retire after racking up 2,598 plate appearances across 10 seasons. He ended his final campaign with a .161/.241/.321 line to go along with 18 runs scored and 23 RBI.

Vogt went 1-for-4 with a three-run triple and a run in a loss to th Mariners on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran, who'd just announced he'd be retiring at the end of the season, promptly delivered his first triple of the season with the bases loaded in the third inning to erase a 3-0 deficit with one swing. Vogt's timely three-bagger snapped an 0-for-14 slump that had encompassed his previous seven games and afforded him his first RBI since Sept. 10.

Vogt will retire at the end of the 2022 season.
EDGE Analysis
The 37-year-old catcher who has started seeing more time at first base and designated hitter has logged over eight full years of MLB service time over 10 total seasons. Vogt has a career .239/.302/.406 slash line with 81 home runs and a 3.4 fWAR over 785 games. It is fitting that he is currently a member of the A's, as that's where he played for roughly half his career, including his peak seasons (2014 and 2015). He was known for being an excellent clubhouse presence and being great at working with younger players, so perhaps he will have a future in player development.

Vogt isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Vogt will miss his third start in the last four games. Meanwhile, Dermis Garcia seems to have taken over as Oakland's primary first baseman and will bat sixth Friday -- his fourth straight start at first base.

Vogt is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Vogt has been seeing an increase in playing time at first base and designated hitter over the past week, but he will sit out Tuesday against southpaw Cole Ragans. Dermis Garcia will take his place at first base and bat fifth in the order.

Vogt will serve as Oakland's designated hitter and No. 6 batter in Sunday's game against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Vogt will be making his fourth start in five games and appears to have at least temporarily settled into a near-everyday role at the expense of Dermis Garcia, who is sitting for the third contest in a row. Since the All-Star break, Vogt owns a modest .644 OPS, so it wouldn't be surprising if his run of steady playing time proves to be short-lived.

Vogt went 2-for-3 with a RBI double in a loss to Atlanta on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Vogt's first-inning double brought home Vimael Machin to open the scoring on the night. The 37-year-old has shown signs of life at the plate recently despite intermittent playing time, hitting .333 (9-for-27) with a trio of two-baggers, a home run and six RBI across his last 11 games. His left-handed swing and ability to fill in at catcher, first base and designated hitter all open up a solid amount of paths to starts, but the Athletics' interest in evaluating young players should continue to cap Vogt's game appearances the rest of the way.

Vogt entered Saturday's extra-innings win over the Yankees as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the 10th inning and hit a game-tying two-run home run.
EDGE Analysis
Vogt stepped into the batter's box in Jonah Bride's stead with one out and Chad Pinder on third base, and the veteran delivered a 395-foot shot to right off a 1-0 changeup from reliever Ron Marinaccio. The blast tied the game at 2-2 and extended a brief but encouraging spell of offensive success for Vogt, who's now 4-for-13 with Saturday's homer, four RBI, two walks, a hit-by-pitch and two runs in his last five games.

Vogt went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a run in a loss to the Marlins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The struggling veteran offered some rare offensive production that included only his second multi-hit effort of the season, the first having come back on June 11. Vogt drew the start at first base Tuesday, but he's made the overwhelming majority of his appearances at either catcher or designated hitter while logging only sporadic playing time overall.
