The Angels promoted Newcomb to High-A Inland Empire on Thursday, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports. Newcomb, the Angels' first-round pick last year, earned a promotion to the High-A level by posting a 1.83 ERA and 45:19 K:BB ratio in 34.1 innings over seven starts with Low-A Burlington. He is scheduled to make his High-A debut Saturday.
