Manaea (5-6) allowed four runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts over five innings in a loss Wednesday to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea was primarily the victim of one bad pitch that turned into a three-run home run off the bat of Rob Refsnyder in the third inning. Other than that, Manaea was solid, as he induced 11 swinging strikes in 95 pitches and walked one batter (or less) for the eighth time in 12 starts. Unfortunately, home runs continue to be Manaea's big problem, as Refsnyder's blast was the 10th home run Manaea has allowed. Despite the resulting 1.2 HR/9, Manaea has a solid 3.60 ERA, so it's easy to be optimistic about what he is capable of if he can find a way to keep the ball in the yard. Manaea's next start will come Tuesday against Texas.

Manaea (5-5) allowed six runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings against the Diamondbacks on Friday, striking out two and walking two in a losing effort.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea allowed four extra-base hits on the evening, the last of which was a two-run triple by Paul Goldschmidt that knocked him out of the game in the fourth. This was Manaea's shortest start of the year, and the first time he's given up more than four runs in an outing. After a fantastic April -- in which he allowed just four earned runs across five starts -- Manaea has allowed a total of 21 earned runs through five starts in May, bringing his ERA to 3.34 on the year. His next start will be against the Rays at home.

Manaea allowed four runs in five innings in a no decision Saturday against the Blue Jays. He gave up five hits and three walks while striking out just two batters.
EDGE Analysis
It was perhaps the weakest start of the season for the southpaw, who hasn't been hit particularly hard in any game so far this year. He notched four scoreless innings Saturday before running into trouble in a four-run fifth. After allowing just five earned runs in his first six starts, Manaea has now given up 15 in his last four. He'll next take the hill Thursday against the Mariners.

Manaea (4-4) allowed four runs on seven hits in Tuesday's loss to the Astros, striking out three and walking zero in 5.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
This was the second consecutive game that Manaea has allowed four runs, bringing his ERA above 2.00 for the first time this season. Manaea still sports an excellent .170 batting average against, as well as an 0.72 WHIP. Additionally, the lefty has a 45:7 K:BB through 55.1 innings. He will next face off with the Red Sox in Boston.

Manaea (4-2) struck out seven and walked one in Friday's win over the Astros, allowing one unearned run on four hits in seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea shut down the Astros on Friday, allowing no extra-base hits on his way to securing his third consecutive win. Manaea didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning, and thereby set a new franchise record for most consecutive innings pitched without allowing a hit at 14.1, dating back to the start before his no-hitter. The 26-year-old lefty has yet to allow more than two runs in a start, and is currently holding opponents to a .134 batting average against. His next start will be a matchup with the Mariners in Seattle.

Manaea (3-2) earned the win, walking only two batters while striking out 10 in a complete game no-hit shutout of the Red Sox on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea baffled the Red Sox Saturday night and recorded the first no-hitter of the 2018 season. There will be some discussion regarding two plays in the game, the first of which came in the fifth inning when Marcus Semien failed to make a catch as he drifted into field that was ruled an error. The second potentially controversial moment came one inning later when Andrew Benintendi appeared to reach first base safely on an infield hit, but was called out for leaving the basepath. However, neither should distract from Manaea's tremendous outing in which he induced 15 swinging strikes and allowed only three baserunners, none of which got past second base. This adds to his excellent start to the season as he now has a 1.23 ERA across 36.2 innings.

Manaea (2-2) picked up the win against the Mariners on Sunday, striking out four over seven innings while allowing one run on two hits and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
A solo homer was the only blemish on the day, as Manaea allowed just one run for the third time in his four starts this season. The lefty has allowed four long balls and isn't racking up a ton of strikeouts, but otherwise the 26-year-old looks poised for a breakout season, as he sports stellar ratios with a 1.63 ERA and 0.72 WHIP. He'll look to keep rolling when he takes the hill Saturday against the Red Sox.

Manaea (1-2) got the loss on Tuesday, giving up two earned runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking one in Oakland's 4-0 defeat to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
He didn't get rewarded with the win for the effort but it was nonetheless a third straight solid start from the 26-year-old left-hander to begin the season, as Manaea is now the owner of a 1.74 ERA and a sparkling 0.77 WHIP through 22.2 innings this year. His ratios aren't likely to stay that ridiculous all year (he'd be a Cy Young candidate if they did) but he certainly has the look of a pitcher who has taken a step forward. He'll look keep the hot start rolling in his next outing against the White Sox on April 16.

Manaea (1-1) picked up the win over the Rangers on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over eight innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander threw 64 of his 94 pitches for strikes in a strong outing. Velocity remains a potential issue for Manaea, however -- by the end of the night he was having trouble hitting 90 mph with his fastball, and he generated only seven swinging strikes in his eight innings. He gets an exploitable matchup Tuesday on the road against a Dodgers squad that's already shown signs of struggling against southpaws.

Manaea (0-1) took the loss despite a sterling outing on Friday, giving up just one run, striking out seven and allowing just four hits over 7.2 innings in a 2-1 defeat to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Manaea was a hard-luck loser on Friday due to a first-inning home run served up to Mike Trout and an equally brilliant showing from his counterpart Tyler Skaggs. You should never read too much into one start and Manaea is coming off a 2017 season where he logged a 4.37 ERA, so there are reasons for pause when assessing his potential for a breakout season. That said, he had a solid spring and he certainly had the look of a top-end starter on Friday. He'll just need to prove it over a larger sample size to become an impact fantasy starter.
