Eovaldi lasted just 3.1 innings Tuesday against the Angels, allowing six runs on 10 hits and one walk, while striking out four in the loss. Tuesday's outing marks two sub-par starts in a row for Eovaldi, where he has allowed 11 runs (10 earned)in 8.1 innings pitched. This was after Eovaldi previously put together three-straight quality starts. Consistency has been the main issue with Eovaldi all year. He now has a 4.30 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 117:34 K:BB ratio in 165.1 innings pitched this year. His next start is set for Monday at home against the Mets.

Eovaldi failed to impress again Wednesday, giving up five runs (four earned in five innings on nine hits and a walk while striking out four to take the loss against Texas. Eovaldi was very good the first few months of the season but has slowed considerably since, posting a 4.96 ERA since mid-June.

Eovaldi (6-7) took the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs (two earned) on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts against the Cardinals. Eovaldi was hurt by sloppy defense, but in the end it didn't matter, as Justin Masterson was unbeatable on the other end. The right-hander has been dealing since coming off a 6.75 ERA in July. In his three August starts, Eovaldi has allowed three runs while striking out 16 over 21 innings. He faces the Rangers on Tuesday.

Eovaldi was dazzling Friday night, tossing eight shutout innings, allowing five hits, one walk, and notching six strikeouts in a 2-1 win over the Reds. Eovaldi (6-6, 3.99 ERA), picked up right where he left off in his last start just five days ago against these same Cincinnati Reds. He did throw 112 pitches (72 for strikes) but he denied his opponents whenever it counted. His overpowering fastball can handcuff hitters when he locates it well, and while he is still inconsistent, there is a lot to like with him. He'll take on the Cardinals at home in his next start.

Nathan Eovaldi was ineffective again Monday, yielding five runs in 5 1/3 innings versus the Nationals. In his last 11 starts, Eovaldi has given up five or more runs six times and won just once. His peripherals suggest that his ERA should be significantly better than his current 4.37 mark, but he just hasn't been able to maintain the same kind of effectiveness out of the stretch as he has in the windup this year. There's little reason to hang on to him in a shallow mixed league.

Nathan Eovaldi's struggles continued on Wednesday, taking a loss after allowing five runs in seven innings to the Braves. Eovaldi is now 0-3 with a 6.39 ERA in his last five starts. He got off to a great start, posting fantastic numbers into the middle of June, but has slumped terribly since. On Wednesday, he gave up six hits, walked two, and struck out only two. His ERA climbs up to 4.20 along with a 1.25 WHIP and 90/26 K/BB ratio. Eovaldi will try to turn things around when he helps the Marlins open up a homestand against the Nationals on Monday.

Nathan Eovaldi tossed seven innings of one-run ball Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks. Eovaldi was fantastic, yielding only four hits and one walk, but the Miami offense didn't provide much support and Steve Cishek blew a save in extra innings. Eovaldi owns a cool 3.61 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 119 2/3 innings this season. He'll get the Giants next.

Nathan Eovaldi fell to 5-4 on the year after allowing three runs over six innings Friday in a loss to the Cardinals. Eovaldi held the Cardinals scoreless over his first five innings of work, but he unraveled in the sixth by giving up three runs on four hits and a wild pitch. He struck out two and walked two in the loss and now has just one win in his last seven starts. He'll attempt to change that next week when he faces the Diamondbacks on the road next week.

Nathan Eovaldi scattered six hits over 6 1/3 innings and combined with four relievers on a shutout of the Phillies on Monday. The bullpen held the Phillies hitless over the last 2 2/3 innings. Eovaldi was coming off a pair of bad starts, giving up 11 runs over 10 2/3 innings versus the Pirates and Cubs, but there's still a lot to like about his numbers this year and there's certainly no doubting his fastball. Unfortunately, he does get the A's next, so mixed leaguers will probably want him reserved for that one.
