Eovaldi allowed one run on four hits, walking four and striking out four over 5.1 innings of an 8-7 win over the Angels on Friday night.
Eovaldi (5-1, 4.16 ERA) continues to struggle with his command - he needed 93 pitches, just 53 for strikes to generate 16 outs. Thankfully for he and his fantasy owners, the Yankees built a big lead, and he lasted long enough to qualify for his fifth win. There is no question Eovaldi has a premier fastball that sits in the upper 90s, but his lack of command of the strikezone too often leads to high pitch counts and short outings. Until he can snap a leash on his pitches, his fantasy value will be limited.

Eovaldi lasted just 4.2 innings in Saturday's start at Oakland, giving up three runs on 11 hits while striking out two.
He didn't receive a decision in what turned out to be a victory for the Yankees. Eovaldi was fortunate to escape being hurt by all those hits too badly, but it helped that they were all singles. Nonetheless, he's been his typical hittable self this year, so fantasy owners considering rolling Eovaldi out even on a matchups basis should tread cautiously.

Eovaldi held the Royals to one run on eight hits over seven innings Monday, striking out four and walking one, to improve to 4-1 on the season.
The Yankees jumped out to an eight-run lead in the first inning and Eovaldi went into cruise control, with his lone blemish coming on an RBI single by Jarrod Dyson in the fifth. Eovaldi has turned in just three quality starts in nine outings this season, but his strikeout and groundballs rates are up slightly and he's now two wins shy of matching his total from last year (33 starts).

Eovaldi was tagged for five earned runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 4.1 innings Tuesday against the Nationals.
He has now given up six home runs over his last five starts, as the hard-throwing righty appears to be quite hittable. Considering Eovaldi has not notched more than six strikeouts in a start since Apr. 15, there is not enough upside in the profile to continue using him in shallower formats.

Eovaldi gave up four runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 7.1 innings Tuesday against the Rays.
The fact remains that Eovaldi is plainly quite hittable. The six hits he gave up Tuesday match his low for the season, and he has already given up five home runs through seven starts. His 31 strikeouts in 41.1 innings are underwhelming so as long as hitters continue to feast on his pitches, the upside here will be limited.

Eovaldi allowed three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three in 5.2 innings in Thursday's win over the Orioles.
In his six starts with the Yankees, Eovaldi (3-0) is undefeated. He gave up solo shots to Jimmy Paredes and Caleb Joseph, but Yankee sluggers Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeiria had 2 RBI each, which was enough run support to get him the win. Eovaldi will take the mound again Tuesday at Tampa Bay.

Eovaldi picked up the win Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk over 6.2 innings, striking out two.
While his WHIP is still an unsightly 1.55, Eovaldi's 3.81 ERA and 22:6 K:BB through five starts (28.1 innings) aren't terrible. He'll try to turn in another quality start next week at home against the Orioles.

Eovaldi allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out six in 4.1 innings of Sunday's win over the Mets.
After a strong performance his last time out in which he earned his first win as a Yankee, Eovaldi posted a similar line as his first two starts as he struggled to go deep into the game. He's only been able to provide 21.2 innings in four starts, but has had solid command as he's up to 20 strikeouts with just five walks.

Eovaldi earned his first win of the season, allowing just one run over seven innings with four strikeouts against the Tigers on Tuesday.
Eovaldi has surrendered eight hits in each of his three starts, but he was able to work deeper into the game Tuesday as the fewer strikeouts kept the pitch count down. He's been able to maintain a solid 3.12 ERA thus far and will look for his second win of the year against the Mets on Sunday.

Eovaldi struck out nine over five innings Wednesday, allowing two runs on eight hits and three walks while earning no decision in a loss to Baltimore.
At least he missed bats this time, but Eovaldi is still 0-for-2 on giving the Yankees length, as he's failed to finish six innings in either of his starts this year. Although he throws hard, Eovaldi's lack of secondary stuff makes him a highly risky fantasy role, and he may ultimately be better suited to the back end of the bullpen.
