Mikolas gave up just one earned run over six innings pitched during the first game of the series against the Nationals, and manager Mike Shildt confirmed that the right-hander will get the chance to start again if the Cardinals win Game 4 on Tuesday. In 12 innings pitched this postseason, the 31-year-old has allowed two earned runs off 10 hits and four walks while recording nine strikeouts.

Mikolas will start Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Nationals on Friday, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas went five innings during his start in Game 1 of the NLDS, holding the Braves to one run on three hits and two walks, and he will be called on to open the NLCS as well. Adam Wainwright is expected to start Game 2 of the series, with Jack Flaherty likely taking the mound for Game 3.

Mikolas allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in a no-decision against the Braves in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
He kept a strong Braves lineup at bay for the most part, though Mikolas was actually in line for the loss before the Cardinals rallied in the eighth. Most importantly, Mikolas kept the ball in the yard, something he was able to do in just two of his final nine regular-season starts. Dakota Hudson is expected to start Game 4 and Jack Flaherty would be available on normal rest for Game 5 (if necessary), so expect Mikolas to shift to the bullpen for the rest of the series.

Mikolas will start Game 1 of the National League Divisional Series on Thursday against the Braves, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was effective over five starts in September, recording an ERA of 3.34 with a 1.18 WHIP, and will now receive the start for the first game of the NLDS on Thursday. In 32 starts this season, Mikolas carries a 144:32 K:BB with a 9-14 record.

Mikolas is no longer listed as the starter for Saturday's game against the Cubs, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals are presumably shuffling their rotation around to gear up for the postseason. Adam Wainwright is now starting Saturday, while it's unclear when Mikolas will get the ball next.

Mikolas allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits and a walk over 7.2 innings Sunday, striking out four in the win over the Cubs. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The Cubs tacked on a run in the first inning on a passed ball but the only earned run to score on Mikolas came from a Nicholas Castellanos solo shot in the sixth. The Cardinals needed a ninth-inning rally to pick up the win so the 31-year-old starter had to settle with a no-decision. However, it was his longest start since a complete game on July 15. Mikolas will take the mound at home against the Cubs on Saturday for his last regular-season start of 2019.

Mikolas (9-14) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings while striking out four as the Cardinals were downed 6-2 by the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has been effective lately as his team tries to secure an NL Central title, delivering quality starts in three of his last five trips to the mound with a 3.54 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 31:6 K:BB over 28 innings. Mikolas will need to stay sharp in his next outing Sunday, on the road against a Cubs squad that remains right on the Cards' heels.

Mikolas (9-13) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings to earn the win Thursday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas stumbled out of the gate, allowing one earned run in each of his first three innings. However, he recovered to turn in two scoreless frames to close out his appearance, recording his fourth consecutive start of allowing three earned runs or fewer. While he hasn't prevented runs at the same rate of the 2018 season, Mikolas has turned in a respectable 4.28 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 136 strikeouts across 30 starts. His next outing is currently scheduled for Tuesday against the Nationals.

Mikolas allowed one run on three hits with four walks and seven strikeouts across five innings during a no-decision against the Pirates on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Three free passes would have been enough for a season high, but Mikolas walked four Friday. Still, he struck out at least seven and yielded only one run for the second time in three starts. He owns a 2.65 ERA in his last three outings since struggling mightily in the middle of August. Mikolas is 8-13 with a 4.25 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 131 strikeouts in 165.1 innings this season. He will make his next start at the Rockies on Wednesday.

Mikolas allowed three runs on four hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Reds in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. He struck out five and did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
The only real blemish was a two-run shot off the bat of Eugenio Suarez in the third inning. That continued a year-long trend; Mikolas has seen his opponents' hard-hit rate jump significantly and in turn his home-run rate is up from 0.72 HR/9 to 1.29. He still has great numbers at home (2.91 ERA), but a 6.11 ERA away from Busch Stadium. Mikolas is on the road in Pittsburgh for his next start before a trip to Colorado the week of Sept. 9.
