Mikolas (5-8) gave up one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out four and taking the loss against the Angels on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Though he gave up only one run, Mikolas scuffled throughout the outing, needing 90 pitches to make it through five innings. He allowed at least one baserunner in all but one inning and induced only six swinging strikes. The loss is Mikolas' sixth in his last seven decisions dating back to May 11. He'll carry a 4.33 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 65:17 K:BB into his next start, on the road against the Padres on Sunday.

Mikolas (5-7) yielded six hits across six shutout innings Monday, striking out four and earning the win over Miami.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing five runs in five innings to the Marlins last week, it was great to see Mikolas come out and dominate this time around. All six hits he allowed were singles and just one base runner ever reached scoring position. His season ERA fell to 4.48 across 84.1 innings. Mikolas will look to begin a winning streak at home against the Angels on Saturday.

Mikolas (4-7) took the loss Wednesday, giving up five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings while striking out four as the Cardinals were downed 9-0 by the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has now lost five straight decisions, with his last win coming over a month ago, and Mikolas has a 6.03 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB in 31.1 innings over the course of his losing streak. He'll get a chance at redemption against the Marlins back at home Monday.

Mikolas (forearm) has been confirmed as the starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas' last start was cut short after he was struck on the arm by a line drive, but he has not experienced any issues since, and will take his turn in the rotation. Mikolas faced the Marlins twice last season and allowed just two total earned runs while going seven innings and picking up the win in each contest.

Mikolas (forearm) played catch Saturday without issue and confirmed he'll take the mound in his next start Wednesday against the Marlins, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas took a 99 mph-plus liner on his right forearm in the fourth inning of Friday's start against the Cubs and was ultimately lifted after swelling began to manifest. However, the fact he was able to play catch less than 24 hours later is certainly encouraging, and manager Mike Shildt confirmed the veteran right-hander's expected availability for his next turn. "He jokingly said, 'It''s going to take more than 99.8 -- it'll take at least 100 -- to get me down,'" Shildt said. "Thankfully, got him in a good spot, if there is such a thing, and was able to play catch, spin some balls, said he wasn't concerned, so I'm not concerned."

Mikolas isn't expected to miss his next turn through the rotation following his removal from Friday's start against Chicago after being struck in the right forearm with a comebacker, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas is dealing with a bruise and a bit of swelling, but he avoided any structural damage. He should be ready to take the mound for Wednesday's matchup in Miami.

Mikolas was removed from Friday's game against the Cubs with a right forearm bruise after being hit by a line drive, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
David Bote hit a liner off Mikolas' right forearm to close the fourth inning, and he did not retake the mound in the following frame. He allowed three runs on four hits across four innings prior to exiting the game. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but the 30-year-old could undergo X-rays even if the injury is considered minor.

Mikolas didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Cubs, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over seven innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander gave up a sac fly to Yu Darvish in the second inning but otherwise kept Chicago off the board, throwing 66 of 104 pitches for strikes en route to his seventh quality start of the season, and fifth in his last six trips to the mound. Mikolas will carry a 4.41 ERA and 49:12 K:BB through 69.1 innings into his next outing Thursday, at home against the Reds.

Mikolas (4-5) took the loss Friday as the Cardinals fell 5-2 to Atlanta, allowing three runs on seven hits over seven innings while striking out a season-high nine.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander came through with his sixth quality start of the season, but he also served up two more homers -- Mikolas has been taken deep 12 times in 62.1 innings so far this year (1.7 HR/9) after giving up only 16 in 200.2 innings in 2018 (0.7 HR/9). He'll take a 4.76 ERA and 46:10 K:BB into his next outing Thursday in Philadelphia.

Mikolas (4-4) took the loss Friday, coughing up seven runs on nine hits over only 1.1 innings while striking out two as the Cardinals dropped a 7-3 decision to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Shin-Soo Choo and Rougned Odor both took Mikolas deep in a brutal second inning, and the outing tacked more than a full run onto his ERA, which is now a bloated 4.88. Mikolas will try to get back on track in his next start Friday, at home against Atlanta.
