The 34-year-old righty entered the All-Star break with a 2.54 ERA but he's posted an unsightly 5.81 ERA in eight starts since. Mikolas now owns a 3.48 ERA with a 124:30 K:BB through 168.1 innings. Mikolas (10-10) took the loss Wednesday, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits and one walk over 6.2 innings against the Cubs. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
After going 1-2-3 to start the game, Mikolas allowed three runs in the second and then settled in before getting saddled with two unearned runs in the seventh on his way to his 10th loss of the season. Despite the hiccups, Mikolas made it through six innings for the sixth time in his last seven games, five of which have been quality starts. The 34-year-old has quietly put together his best season since 2018 with a 3.35 ERA and 1.02 WHIP to this point to go along with 10 wins.

Mikolas (10-9) earned the win Friday over the Diamondbacks. He allowed one run on two hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out four across eight innings.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas got through the Arizona order cleanly the first time, then allowed two baserunners in the fourth. The only run he surrendered was in the eighth on a groundout. Aside from a 10-run disaster in Colorado on Aug. 9, Mikolas has been fairly sharp lately. For the season, he owns a 3.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 118:28 K:BB through 157.1 innings across 25 starts. The right-hander is lined up for a road start versus the Cubs next week.

Mikolas (9-9) earned the win against the Brewers on Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out six and walking none over eight innings.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers could not get much going against an efficient Mikolas, who threw 64 of 99 pitches for strikes in Sunday's contest. The righty bounced back well after allowing 10 runs in 2.2 innings to the Rockies in his last appearance. Mikolas picked up his 16th quality start of the year, his sixth in his last eight games. He will take a 3.44 ERA into his next appearance.

Mikolas (8-9) took the loss Tuesday versus the Rockies, allowing 10 runs on 14 hits while striking out two in 2.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
For context, Mikolas had allowed 11 runs in his previous 18.1 innings across three starts, and that was one of his less impressive parts of the year. The 33-year-old right-hander will probably want to forget this one as fast as possible, as his ERA spiked from 2.92 to 3.50 after the horrid start. He's also posted a 1.09 WHIP and 108:27 K:BB through 141.1 innings across 23 starts. Mikolas will look to get back on track in a key divisional matchup versus the Brewers this weekend.

Mikolas took a no-decision in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cubs. He allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts in 6.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas had an extra day of rest after Wednesday's rainout, though he only produced middling results. The Cardinals' seventh-inning rally got him off the hook for the loss. He's turned in quality starts in five of his last six outings, and the veteran right-hander owns a 2.92 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 106:27 K:BB through 138.2 innings across 22 starts overall. Mikolas is tentatively set for a tough road start in Colorado his next time out.

EDGE Analysis
The game will be made up via a doubleheader Thursday, and Mikolas figures to start one of those contests. The right-hander surrendered six runs in his first outing after the All-Star break, but he bounced back with two runs allowed across seven innings during his last start.

EDGE Analysis
Both runs against Mikolas on Friday came via sacrifice flys. It was a strong bounceback after he was tagged with six runs by the Reds in his last outing. Mikolas (7-8) took the loss Sunday in Cincinnati, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four in five innings.
EDGE Analysis
All six runs against Mikolas came in the third and fourth innings. He allowed singles to three of the first four batters and, following a sacrifice fly, Joey Votto tagged him for a three-run, two-out blast in the third. In the next frame, a walk and two singles led to two more runs. It was the first time Mikolas allowed more than three earned runs in a start since June 3. He's now given up six homers in his last 30.2 innings. His next start will likely be next weekend in Washington.

Mikolas (7-7) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over seven innings against the Reds. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Jonathan India tagged Mikolas for a leadoff homer to begin the game, but that would end up being the only blemish on Mikolas' line. With three consecutive quality starts to close the first half, Mikolas now sits with a 2.54 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 92:23 K:BB over 120.1 innings this season. An All-Star in 2018, Mikolas did not quite make the cut in 2022.
