Mike Trout was pulled from Sunday's game as a precautionary measure. Trout was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning of a Triple-A Salt Lake game. "It was just a precautionary thing. We had a lead at the time, so rather than having him play through it, I pulled him," Bees manager Keith Johnson said. "Everything's good." Trout is batting .400 through 18 games.

Angels prospect Mike Trout was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning of a Triple-A game Sunday. Trout played defense for a half-inning and then exited for pinch hitter. Trout went 1-for-1 with a walk before leaving and is now batting .400 on the year. We'll update you on his status when more information is know.

Mike Trout is hitting .500 (10-for-20) over his first five games with Triple-A Salt Lake. Trout went 2-for-4 with his first homer on Monday. The 20-year-old was understandably sent down to the minors after dealing with the flu and a shoulder ailment during spring training, but the clamoring for him to return to the majors will only get louder if he keeps it up and Vernon Wells continues to struggle.

Angels optioned OF Mike Trout to Triple-A Salt Lake. An expected move, even before Trout dealt with the flu and more recently a shoulder ailment. The should injury isn't expected to be a big deal, and the top prospect should be ready to roll once the minor league season begins. Trout is talented enough to be in the big leagues now, but it's not the worst thing to get him some more seasoning, especially with the Angels loaded with outfielders. He could make some noise later this season.

Mike Trout (shoulder) has been cleared by doctors to begin throwing again. It hasn't been the best spring for one of baseball's best prospects. The talented 20-year-old outfielder lost over 10 pounds to the flu earlier this spring. Trout will play soft toss Monday and is expected to play the outfield in a game last this week. He's all but certain to begin the year at Triple-A.

Trout has already played in several minor league exhibition games, but will finally see at-bats on the major league side of camp. The talented 20-year-old outfielder lost over 10 pounds to the flu earlier this spring. He's expected to open the year at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Mike Trout (flu, shoulder) is scheduled to make his spring debut Saturday in a minor league exhibition game. Trout reportedly lost 10 pounds this spring due to ''flu-like symptoms.'' He was a considered longshot to earn a roster spot coming into camp and is expected to begin the season at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Mike Trout is still recovering from the flu. Trout caught the bug at the beginning of spring training and has already dropped 10 pounds because of a lack of appetite. "I'm definitely itching to get out there, but I've got to get healthy, that's the main thing," Trout said Wednesday morning. "I'm getting back to the usual things I do ... and I'm feeling better." He's expected to being the 2012 campaign at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Mike Trout (flu) won't play for "a number of days." Trout has been bothered by a flu bug since the beginning of camp and has lost 10 pounds. He said he's still feeling still feeling "not normal," as the virus has left him feeling weak and feverish. "I don't want to go out there and risk injury," he said. "I want to get right first." With the Angels already stocked with outfielders, Trout was a longshot to earn a roster spot coming into camp, and he's been unable to sway that line of thinking due to the illness.

Mike Trout has lost 10 pounds while dealing with flu-like symptoms. The Angels will hold the talented youngster out of games until he regains some of the weight and gets his strength back. Trout is expected to begin the 2012 campaign at Triple-A, barring an injury to another Halos outfielder.
