Angels manager Mike Scioscia said the recently recalled Mike Trout will not play every day.
That's no surprise, given that Vernon Wells isn't going to the disabled list as previously suspected. "If he's out there three days a week, that'll be great," Scioscia said. "Coming off the bench will give us a dimension there." The bigger news is that Trout will cut into Wells' and Bobby Abreu's playing time, hurting both veterans' already-plummeting fantasy value. As far as Trout goes, with limited playing time and limited success in his first go-round earlier this season, he isn't playable in fantasy right now.

Angels recalled OF Mike Trout from Double-A Arkansas.
The corresponding roster move hasn't been announced yet, but multiple reports suggest Vernon Wells may be headed for the disabled list. Trout, who just turned 20 earlier this month, batted .163/.213/.279 with one home run and six RBI over 47 plate appearances in his first taste of the big leagues last month. He is worth a flier in AL-only and deeper mixed formats, but temper your expectations for now.

The Angels will recall OF Mike Trout from Double-A Arkansas on Friday.
That is, at least according to a tweet from his brother Tyler. Trout struggled mightily during his first MLB cup of coffee earlier this summer, hitting .163/.213/.279 in 47 plate appearances. The Angels are starved for offense, however, and can use all the help they can get as they hold on for dear life in the American League West. Trout is again worth a flier, but it's doubtful things will go all that differently than they did during his first MLB go-around.

Angels optioned OF Mike Trout to Double-A Arkansas.
As expected. Trout, 19, batted .163/.213/.279 with one home run and six RBI over his first 47 plate appearances in the big leagues. He'll head back to the minors to play everyday now that Peter Bourjos is back to full health. Chances are we'll be hearing from him again real soon.

Mike Trout is headed back to Double-A Arkansas.
With Peter Bourjos (hamstring) now healthy and back in the Angels' lineup on a daily basis, Trout was only seeing part-time action. The impressive 19-year-old batted .163/.213/.279 with one home run and six RBI in 47 plate appearances. He should be back up in September.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia indicated that Mike Trout will probably be sent down soon.
Trout is hitting just .163 and needs to be playing every day. Scioscia hinted that he could be sent down after Sunday's game, the final contest of the team's road trip. "At the end of the trip we'll see where he is," Scioscia said. "Mike's done some good things for us when he's gotten his opportunity. If the need for him becomes more apparent as we move forward, he'll be here. But right now there's a huge development component that is important to a kid in his position."

Mike Trout hit the first home run of his major-league career on Sunday, taking Mark Worrell deep for a three-run bomb in the eighth inning of Los Angeles' 9-3 win over the Orioles.
A great moment for Trout, but he still finished his day just 1-for-5, and is hitting an ugly .179 through his first 39 at-bats. With Peter Bourjos now off the disabled list, there's a pretty good chance Trout will soon be sent back to the minors.

Mike Trout went 0-for-3 as the Angels' No. 9 hitter in his major league debut Friday.
Trout flied out in the second, grounded out in the fifth and lined to center in the seventh. He's expected to start the remaining two games this weekend before the Angels make any decisions on his future.

Angels recalled OF Mike Trout from Double-A Arkansas.
As previously reported, Trout will make his major-league debut in center field on Friday evening, drawing the start in place of Peter Bourjos, who could be placed on the disabled list as early as this afternoon. Arguably the game's top prospect with only Washington's Bryce Harper pushing him for the title, Trout possesses a rare combination of power and speed, and should immediately be considered one of baseball's fastest players. His power, while quite real, may not immediately transfer to the American League West and its stable of pitcher-friendly parks, but that should not stop you from taking an immediate flier in all formats.

Mike Trout will become the first teenager to reach the major leagues since Justin Upton in 2007 when he starts in center field for the Angels on Friday.
Trout is 30 days shy of his 20th birthday, while Upton was 23 days shy of his 20th birthday when he debuted for the Diamondbacks on August 2, 2007. There's a very good chance another teenager, Bryce Harper (who doesn't turn 19 until October), makes his major-league debut in 2012.
