Mike Trout (back) remained out of the Angels' lineup Sunday. Trout has now missed two straight contests with upper back stiffness. He reported improvement late Saturday, so there would seem to be a good chance he'll be back in action on Tuesday after the off day Monday.

Mike Trout said he'd be ready to go on Sunday after sitting out Saturday's game with back stiffness. According to MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez, the back is "night and day" better than it was in the afternoon before the game. That doesn't jibe with our sense of time, but we'll go with it.

Mike Trout was scratched from the Angels' starting lineup on Saturday with upper back stiffness. Trout has also been nursing some hamstring tightness. He's come alive over the past week after a sluggish start to May and will try to return to action on Sunday.

Anaheim CF Mike Trout collected three singles, two RBI and a walk in Thursday's win against the Mariners. Trout was perfect on the day. It's a welcome sight for his owners, who have nervously watched their main man work his way through a hamstring issue in the last few weeks. While you might think that Trout is some sort of robot sent from the future to destroy baseballs and is thus impervious to failure, he's actually hit a rather human .230/.338/.448 in the month of May. Even Godzilla has a down month from time to time.

Mike Trout went 2-for-4 and homered Friday in his return to the Angels lineup. He also had an outfield assist. Trout didn't play Wednesday because of hamstring soreness. The homer tonight was his ninth of the year.

Mike Trout is back in the Angels' lineup Friday. Trout has been nursing some minor left hamstring soreness for a couple weeks and sat out Wednesday's game with the ailment. The studly outfielder is obviously feeling good enough to give it a go Friday and is playing center field rather than being used in the DH spot.

Mike Trout said Wednesday that his hamstring has been bothering him for about two weeks now. It hasn't been a major problem for him, but the Angels decided it made sense to sit him now and then give him Thursday's off day to rest up. He expects to play Friday.

Mike Trout is out of Wednesday's lineup because of soreness in his hamstring. Trout was used as a DH before coming out early last night. He said he expected to be ready to go tonight, but it looks like the Angels are being cautious. At least they do have Kole Calhoun back in the outfield tonight.

Mike Trout (hamstring) expects to be back in the lineup on Wednesday. Trout exited Tuesday's contest as a precaution due to some minor soreness in his left hamstring, but he insists that it's no big deal and he would have remained in had it been a close game. "It's just a little soreness, it's no big deal," said Trout. "I don't feel it when I run. I just feel it a little after I run. I just know it's there." It's possible Angels manager Mike Scioscia will buy Trout's legs some extra rest with another start in the DH spot.

Mike Trout went 2-for-3 with three RBI as the Angels beat the Astros on Tuesday. With an 8-1 lead in the fifth inning, Los Angeles pulled Trout for pinch-runner Grant Green after the star center fielder beat out an infield single. Trout ran full speed and the team didn't announce an injury, so we assume manager Mike Scioscia wanted to give Trout the night off early. Trout was acting as the DH to give his legs a game off from outfield duties anyway. He's batting .270/.361/.511 with 31 RBI.
