Leake (0-1) lasted only 4.1 innings Wednesday against the Pirates, giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out just one.
EDGE Analysis
Well, that's certainly not how he wanted to start his Cardinals career after signing a five-year, $80 million contract in the offseason. Leake has never been an elite starter and last year's WHIP improvement can be attributed to good BABIP luck more than anything else; he's good enough to pick up quality starts while not dragging down your ERA, which might lead to a decent record, but that's about all you can ask from him. He certainly won't contribute many strikeouts, as we saw in this one.

Leake threw 33-of-39 pitches for strikes on his way to four shutout innings Thursday against the Yankees, striking out five while allowing only two baserunners.
EDGE Analysis
Leake closes out spring training with a 2.25 ERA in five starts. He had a sparkling 0.95 WHIP while striking out an impressive 24 batters in 20 innings pitched. The Cardinals and fantasy owners alike will be extremely pleased if he comes anywhere near those numbers during the regular season.

Leake was sharp on Monday against Minnesota, throwing four shutout innings while striking out six and allowing just a lone single in the outing.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals made a big commitment to Leake this offseason in signing him to a five year, $80 million deal. He's displayed great control in the past and if he can limit the homers he allows and get a few more swings and misses he could be in for a sneaky good 2016.

Leake agreed to a deal with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The exact terms of the deal have yet to be confirmed, but it's expected to be in the neighborhood of five years for $75 million with an option included. Leake struggled a bit after joining the Giants midseason last year, but he's still posted a 3.70 ERA or better in three consecutive campaigns. He's never been much of a strikeout pitcher, but saw his totals drop to a career-low 5.6 K/9, but he'll get a chance to stay in the NL and figures to fill in the spot vacated when John Lackey left earlier in free agency.

Leake (11-10) was spectacular on Wednesday, twirling a complete game shutout while allowing two hits and three walks in a win over the Dodgers. He struck out just one.
EDGE Analysis
Leake has been terrible in his time with the Giants, but this is the type of performance they were expecting when they traded for him. The craziest stat to go along with the one strikeout is that he drew just three swinging strikes in 104 pitches. That's simply hard to do and it may be a case of the Dodgers sending out a junior-varsity lineup and having a "hangover" after winning the NL West the night before. With that said, Leake is an intriguing option next season in one of the best pitchers parks in baseball.

Leake (10-10) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks across six innings in a loss to the A's on Friday. He struck out three and allowed two homers.
EDGE Analysis
It appeared Leake's value had risen exponential with the move to San Francisco after the All-Star break, but he's been struggling for the Giants. Not only has he failed to strike out more than six batters in any game, he's allowed 25 runs over his eight starts over 46.1 innings. This may be a good thing for next year, as he could become a nice value in drafts next season. His final start will be on Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that Leake experienced some arm tightness after his Sept. 13 start, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake downplayed the issue, saying it's nothing he's concerned about and just something players deal with this late in the year, but it likely played a part in the decision to lift him Saturday after three innings and 49 pitches. The right-hander did not fare well in his three frames against Arizona, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout. Bochy did not indicate Leake will miss his next outing.

Leake (10-8) pitched well on Sunday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks through six innings in a 10-3 victory over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
It was a rough start to begin the outing for the 27-year-old, as he surrendered three runs, including a solo home run from Travis Jankowski, in the first two innings. However, he allowed just one runner on base the rest of the way, navigating through the Padres' order with ease. Not only did Leake stymie the Padres' offense for most of his time on the mound, he also hit a three-run home run in the second inning that put the Giants ahead for good. He will take the mound next in a home start against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Leake fell to 9-8 after allowing six runs on 11 hits and three walks in 5.2 innings in Monday's loss to Atlanta. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Leake gave up a pair of home runs and has now served up 19 on the season. His 11 hits allowed ties a season high allowed against the Giants in May prior to the trade that sent him to San Francisco. Leake's ERA jumped to 3.70, exactly matching his mark from last season.

Leake (9-7) allowed just two runs on five hits over seven innings in a 2-1 loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday. He struck out just three.
EDGE Analysis
A performance like this is usually good for a win, but when facing Clayton Kershaw it's not. The most impressive part about this start is that Leake only threw 76 pitches to get through his seven innings and it was a bit of a surprise to see him pulled. Leake will continue to be a nice fantasy option in standard mixed leagues going forward with his move to San Francisco. His next start will be on Monday in Arizona.
