Leake (4-4) pitched 6.1 innings, allowing six runs on ten hits while striking out five in a no-decision against the Reds on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It's no surprise that five of the six runs Leake allowed came via the longball considering he sports a poor 1.5 HR/9 through 12 starts. The ten hits and six runs were both the most he's allowed in a game this season. Leake has excellent control (1.69 BB/9), but his fantasy value is immensely limited by his poor 5.67 K/9. The righty will look to rebound from this forgettable showing in his next start Sunday against the Pirates.

Leake (4-4) held the Brewers to two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts over six innings in a win Tuesday night.
EDGE Analysis
Leake had a brutal 6.03 ERA after his first six starts but has now rattled off five consecutive quality starts to bring that mark down to 3.82. He continues to thrive on control, as Leake has walked more than one batter just once in this strong stretch, fueling a crisp 20:5 K:BB in 34 innings. Leake is too much of a contact pitcher to be a strong asset in most fantasy formats, but his ability to draw ground balls and avoid walks suits him perfectly to the back end of St. Louis's rotation.

Leake (3-3) shut out the Diamondbacks over seven innings Saturday, allowing only four hits. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty was masterful, throwing 64 of 91 pitches for strikes in a highly efficient performance. After a very shaky start to his Cardinals tenure, Leake has settled in nicely during May. He's lowered his ERA almost two full runs to 4.07, and has now rattled off three straight victories. The 28-year-old has notably surrendered only two earned runs in the 21 innings encompassing that trio of wins, and he's given up only a pair of homers over 26 innings during the current month as well. He'll look to stay hot against Joe Ross and the Nationals in Washington next Thursday.

Leake earned his second victory of the season Sunday versus the Dodgers, allowing just one run with three strikeouts and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
Leake allowed just five hits Sunday, and his only real mistake came on a solo home run hit by Corey Seager. He has now delivered quality starts in each of his last two outings after doing so just once in his first six starts, will look to even his record at 3-3 Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.

Leake earned his first win of the season Tuesday versus the Angels, allowing just one run with five strikeouts and one walk across eight strong innings.
EDGE Analysis
Leake entered the game with an unsightly 6.03 ERA, but he lowered that figure nearly a full run to 5.10 by making it through eight frames and allowing fewer than three runs for the first time in 2016. This is likely the type of outing St. Louis envisioned when they threw $80 million at him this offseason, and he will look to build on this performance Sunday at the Dodgers.

Leake gave up four runs on four hits (two of them homers) and a walk with three strikeouts in a no-decision against the Phillies on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an ugly start to 2016 for Leake in his new digs, and it didn't get any better in this one. He's now given up four runs or more in four of six starts, leading to a grand total of 26 runs (23 earned) in 34.1 innings. Well, that's grand for opposing hitters, anyhow. The truth is, Leake's been pitching over his head for years, and it looks like his birds are coming home to roost all at once.

Leake (0-3) allowed five runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two over seven innings, but took the loss Friday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
After jumping out to a one-run lead after the first inning, a four-run fourth inning ultimately led to Leake losing his third straight decision. He's struggled mightily this season, as opponents have scored at least four runs against him in each of his five starts, and his ERA currently sits at 5.83 to go along with a 1.40 WHIP. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Phillies.

Leake allowed three runs on seven hits and two talks in five innings against the Padres on Sunday. He struck out four and did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander entered Sunday's start with a 5.71 ERA, and while he kept he kept his team in the game, he has still yet to deliver the kind of start St. Louis likely expected when they handed him $80 million this winter. Leake will try to get things moving in the right direction in his next start Friday versus Washington.

Leake (0-2) took the loss Monday against the Cubs as he allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Leake's ERA is still ugly at 5.71, but he seems to be settling in over his past two starts. Monday's outing marks his first quality start -- against a great lineup in the Cubs at that -- and he now has 12 strikeouts against two walks in his past two starts, covering 13 innings. Leake's stuff is fringey and that puts a cap on his value, but he's trending in the right direction.

Leake went six innings in Wednesday's no-decision against Milwaukee, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
He's given up four runs in both of his starts to open the season, and although better times are surely ahead, these efforts highlight the downside of owning Leake -- he pitches to a lot of contact and Wednesday's six whiffs represent about as many as you can ever expect from him. Leake hasn't even parlayed his reliable mediocrity into being much of an innings eater, as he's only cleared 200 once in his career. That said, if you can limit yourself to only playing Leake in his two-start weeks, you'll probably come out ahead of the game.
