Michael Pineda (shoulder) allowed no runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings in an intrasquad game Friday at the Yankees' spring training complex. He threw 74 pitches, 57 for strikes and had five strikeouts. Pineda is expected to continue his rehab assignment Wednesday with High-A Tampa. If all goes well, he could join the Yankees' rotation by the end of the month.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) will throw a 75-pitch simulated game on Friday. The Yankees have decided they'd rather have him pitching in a controlled environment rather than make a rehab start on the road. He'll likely make another rehab start next week when Tampa returns home. Pineda allowed an unearned run over 4 1/3 innings in his first rehab start with Tampa on Sunday.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out four over 4 1/3 innings in his first rehab start with High-A Tampa Sunday. Pineda was reportedly sitting at 90-91 mph with his fastball and touched 93 mph. It's a nice showing from the right-hander, though the Yankees would surely like to see a bit more velocity. Pineda could join the Yankees' rotation by the end of the month if all goes well.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) will make his first rehab start on Sunday afternoon with High-A Tampa. Pineda was supposed to make the start on Saturday night but Tampa's game against Lakeland got rained out. The right-hander is on his way back from major shoulder surgery and currently aiming to join the Yankees' starting rotation by the end of this month. He's a worthwhile stash right now in deeper mixed fantasy formats.

Michael Pineda's first rehab start Saturday with High-A Tampa had to be postponed due to rain. It's a bit of a bummer for the many folks trying to get a good look at the rehabbing right-hander, but Pineda can stay on track by throwing on the side and remains on course to join the Yankees' starting rotation by the end of June. He threw 65 pitches in an extended spring training game Monday and experienced no problems at all with his surgically-repaired right shoulder.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Michael Pineda (shoulder) will not be used as a reliever. Pineda could possibly join the Yankees' rotation within the next month, otherwise he'll be in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's rotation. Cashman said that the right-hander has been sitting at 93 mph and topping out at 94 mph during his extended spring training appearances. It's not quite as hard as he was throwing prior to shoulder surgery, but it's possible he'll slowly regain a bit more velocity. Pineda will begin a rehab assignment Saturday with High-A Tampa.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with High-A Tampa. Pineda was given the go-ahead after he threw 65 pitches in an extended spring game Monday without incident. His cracked fingernail is no longer an issue and his surgically-repaired shoulder feels good. The Yankees will likely use the entire 30-day rehab window to evaluate his readiness. There's a chance that he'll be optioned to the minors at the end of the rehab assignment if there's no obvious fit for him at the major league level. Still, he figures to make an impact at some point during the second half.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) will throw in an extended spring training game Monday. Assuming he avoids setbacks, Pineda could then be cleared to begin a rehab assignment. Currently on the 60-day disabled list, the Yankees expect Pineda to be an option for their starting rotation around midseason.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) is expected to stretch things out to around 60 or 70 pitches in a simulated game this week. Assuming all goes well, the Yankees will likely send him out on a minor league rehab assignment. Pineda will likely need a few starts, but he could make an impact with the Yankees during the second half of the season. There have been promising reports about his velocity, so he's a worthy stash in deeper formats.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) threw five innings Thursday in a start at extended spring training. Pineda's fastball sat near 93 mph all afternoon and he reported no issues with his surgically-repaired shoulder. The right-hander is expected to make one more start at the Yankees' spring complex before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. He should be stashed right now in leagues with big roster allotments.
