Michael Pineda (shoulder) dropped 20 pounds this offseason and is aiming to be ready at some point in June. Pineda is still in recovery mode from surgery to repair a labrum tear in his throwing shoulder. "Everything is doing well. Everything has been good," the 24-year-old right-hander said Thursday in Yankees camp. "I'm feeling very excited, I'm feeling good. My shoulder is stronger right now." He is worth stashing in most fantasy formats.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) could begin throwing from a full mound as soon as next week. Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild said Thursday that Pineda hasn't had any setbacks during his recent sessions off a half-mound. Throwing off a full mound will be a big step in his rehab process, but he's still months away from pitching for the Yankees. The best-case scenario is that he returns around midseason.

Michael Pineda will throw off a half-mound Tuesday for the first time since shoulder surgery last April. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman delivered the encouraging news. It's a big step in Pineda's recovery, but he still has a long way to go. He is unlikely to return until around midseason assuming no setbacks.

Michael Pineda had his surgically-repaired shoulder examined by a doctor Monday and was cleared to continue his throwing program. Pineda is only playing catch on flat ground to this point, but it appears that progress is being made. That said, the Yankees have been careful to keep expectations for him low, saying they're not counting on him making a significant contribution in 2013. He likely won't be ready to return until midseason, at the earliest.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) has begun throwing off flat ground. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman revealed the news last week while also reiterating that it would be unwise to count on Pineda for any sort of production in 2013. The young right-hander, of course, if coming back from labrum surgery and won't be ready until midseason, at the earliest. "He's just flat ground throwing," said Cashman. "I think it's best for us to pretend he's not even there and then have him sneak up on us. And I hope he does, but I'm not going to count on him."

Michael Pineda (shoulder) is not expected to be ready by the start of spring training next February. "We have to keep him off our radar for now," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman told reporters on Sunday. "We're talking June of next year ... the second half of next year." Pineda underwent surgery in April to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. He's healing slower than his initial timetable suggested he would.

Michael Pineda was arrested Monday morning in Tampa, Florida for driving under the influence of alcohol. An officer spotted Pineda's vehicle swerving without its headlights on at 2:35 a.m. local time. "I could smell a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, and his speech was slurred," the cop wrote in his report. Pineda was released on $500 bond around noon. He is currently rehabbing from shoulder surgery at the Yankees' spring training facilities.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) is aiming to begin a throwing program around the middle of September. Pineda underwent season-ending surgery in April to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. The 23-year-old right-hander will try to get back to full health by spring training next February, though it's no sure thing.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) told Sweeny Murti of WFAN that he expects to be "100 percent" by spring training next year. "Yeah, the doctor before the surgery, he told me, 'Hey no worries. You can't pitch this year, but I promise next year you'll be ready 100 percent in spring training.' That's what he told me before the surgery," explained Pineda. The 23-year-old right-hander needed surgery last month to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder and while he's young enough that there's still hope for his career, setbacks are certainly possible. He's no sure thing to be ready for spring training.

Yankees transferred RHP Michael Pineda (shoulder) to the 60-day disabled list. It's a purely procedural move, as Pineda was ruled out for the season last month. Pineda was scheduled to undergo surgery on his torn labrum earlier this week. He's not a sure thing to be ready for spring training next year.
