Mariners activated OF Michael Morse from the 15-day disabled list. Morse wound up missing five weeks with a strained right quadriceps muscle. He will return to the Mariners' starting lineup on Tuesday night and will carry good fantasy value down the stretch if he can stay healthy.

Michael Morse (quad) is likely to rejoin the Mariners before Tuesday's series-opener in Boston. Nothing has been announced yet by the M's, but Morse was spotted giving out handshakes and hugs on Sunday evening at Triple-A Tacoma, suggesting that his rehab assignment is over. He has been on the disabled list since June 21 with a strained right quad. The 31-year-old slugger can carry sneaky fantasy value down the stretch.

Michael Morse (quad) went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Monday in his first rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma. Morse was eased into action as the designated hitter, but he's expected to play about five innings in the field on Tuesday. Barring any setbacks, he should rejoin the Mariners by the end of the week. The 31-year-old has been sidelined since June 20 with a strained right quad.

Michael Morse (quad) is hoping to begin a minor league rehab assignment next week. Morse did not travel with the team to Houston, opting instead to stay behind and get more work in on his injured quad. He'll need a few minor league games to get his timing back, but assuming all goes well he could rejoin the Mariners' lineup by the end of next week.

Michael Morse (quad) is still not ready to begin a rehab assignment. The Mariners had been hoping to send Morse out on a rehab assignment as soon as last weekend, but evidently his right quad isn't where it needs to be yet. Once ready, he's expected to need several rehab games, so it's looking like he won't return until late July.

Michael Morse tested his ailing right quad out on the bases again Monday. Morse also ran the bases last Friday and was supposed to be cleared to begin a rehab assignment if it went well, but evidently he wasn't quite ready yet. He could be cleared after Monday's running session.

Mariners manager Eric Wedge expects Michael Morse (quad) to need several rehab games before being activated. Morse's right quad is steadily improving and he should be able to begin a rehab assignment before long. However, it doesn't seem likely that he'll make it back prior to the All-Star break.
