Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the market for free agent outfielder has begun to heat up, with the Rangers, Rockies, Giants and Marlins all interested.
Morse struggled through an injury plagued campaign in 2013, slashing a meager .215/.270/.381 with 13 homers and 27 RBI in 88 games between the Mariners and Orioles. He's one of the top power hitters remaining on the open market and represents a nice buy-low option.

Michael Morse is on the Giants' radar in their search for a left fielder, reports Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Schulman also notes that the team would likely prefer to trade for a left fielder instead. Morse started quickly but cooled considerably last season, finishing with a .215/.270/.381 line. He hasn't garnered much attention, at least not publicly, to this point in the offseason.

Michael Morse will undergo surgery on his left wrist Wednesday to shave down a bone outgrowth.
Doctors believe the outgrowth occurred as a result of trauma from an injury back in May. It's a relatively minor procedure, as Morse will be able to resume some activities within four weeks and should be totally healed within 6-8 weeks. An impending free agent, Morse will enter spring training with a clean bill of health.

Michael Morse will undergo surgery on his left wrist.
The decision was made after Morse received a second opinion at the Mayo Clinic. The 31-year-old batted just .215/.270/.381 with 13 homers in 337 plate appearances this season between the Mariners and Orioles, but could make sense as a buy-low option in free agency.

Michael Morse will have his left wrist examined by Dr. Brian Schofield on Wednesday.
He'll also go to the Mayo Clinic next Monday to get checked out. Morse was finally shut down on Saturday after nursing the wrist injury for a while. It's not clear at this point whether he'll require surgery.

Mike Morse (wrist) has been shut down for the rest of the season by the Orioles.
Morse has been battling a wrist ailment for some time and finally succumbed to it. He'll be examined by a hand specialist in Florida and will get a second opinion at the Mayo Clinic before deciding whether to have surgery. Morse started the season like a house on fire but finishes with a disappointing .215/.270/.381 line.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter remained hopeful Friday that Mike Morse would make it to New York in time for Saturdays' afternoon tilt against the Yankees.
Morse, who was acquired from the Mariners on Friday, is expected to function as the O's primary DH for the remainder of the season. While he's hitting a disappointing .226/.283/.410 with 13 homers and 27 RBI on the year, he adds another element of right-handed power into the Orioles lineup.

Orioles acquired 1B/OF Michael Morse from the Mariners for OF Xavier Avery.
The O's are hoping Morse is more of the .296/.345/.516 hitter he was over the previous three season as opposed to the .226/.283/.410 batter of 2013. He's likely to give them more than what they've received out of the DH spot this season (.217 average, .672 OPS), and he didn't cost much, so it's worth a shot.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Orioles have acquired Michael Morse in a trade with the Mariners.
There's no word yet on what they gave up, but multiple outlets are reporting that the deal is done. Morse is hitting just .226/.283/.410 with 13 homers over 76 games this season, but he batted .296/.345/.516 over the previous three campaigns and the O's hope he'll satisfy their need for a right-handed hitter.

MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko reports that the Orioles are "still trying to swing a deal" for Michael Morse.
Kubatko says a trade for Josh Willingham is "not happening at this point" because the Twins are "asking for way too much." It's not surprising that the asking price for Morse is more reasonable, as he's not as good of a hitter, costs a bit less and is a free agent after the season. The two sides seem likely to iron something out before Sunday.
