Michael Morse went 2-for-4 and hit the game-winning home run in Sunday's win over the Angels. Morse was batting just .162/.205/.216 in his last nine games, but he was able to come through in the clutch on Sunday. His home run came off Jason Vargas in the eighth inning. Morse claims his recent struggles have nothing to do with the hand injury that cost him time earlier this month. The Mariners needed him to get back on track.

Michael Morse is batting just .162/.205/.216 with no home runs in nine games since suffering a non-displaced right pinkie fracture. He was hitting .293/.341/.732 with six homers over 10 contests prior to the injury. Morse has refused to blame the ailment for his slump, but it's pretty clear it's affecting him. However, it doesn't sound like the Mariners are considering placing him on the DL. "We're dinged up. It is what it is," manager Eric Wedge said.

Michael Morse (finger) is back in the Mariners' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Tigers. Morse suffered a small fracture in his right pinkie finger Friday when he was hit by a pitch. Team doctors have determined that he can now play through the injury.

Michael Morse will make the start in right field Thursday night against the Rangers. With Michael Saunders (shoulder) sidelined, the Mariners figure to go with Raul Ibanez, Franklin Gutierrez and Morse in their outfield against right-handers. Jason Bay should see at-bats against left-handed pitching or if Gutierrez needs a night off in center field. Of course, that would potentially create one of the worst defensive outfields in recent memory.

Michael Morse singled and launched another home run in Thursday's loss to the Athletics. Morse's solo blast off of A.J. Griffin in the sixth inning was already his fourth on the young season. This is after he belted nine over the boards during Cactus League play. There's not a hotter hitter in baseball right now.

Michael Morse hit a pair of homers and drove in four runs in the Mariners' 7-1 win over the A's on Tuesday. Morse put the A's on the board with a three-run homer off Jarrod Parker in the third and finished the scoring with a solo shot in the ninth. This fresh off a spring in which he set a Mariners record with nine homers, so he's on fire right now, no doubt. It'll be up to AL pitchers to adjust to him or maybe start pitching around him until he cools off.

Michael Morse clubbed his ninth home run of the spring in a 6-4 win over the Cubs on Thursday. That's the most in the majors this spring and a new Mariners' spring training record. Yes, people keep track of such things. Morse has been locked in all spring following an injury-plagued 2012 and could provide the middle-of-the-order pop the Mariners have lacked in recent seasons. Safeco Field figures to be a bit more conducive to power this season, so we wouldn't hesitate investing on draft day.

Michael Morse hit his eighth home run of the spring in Wednesday's 10-7 win over the Dodgers. The Beast, as he's known, went deep off Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw in the first inning. He's now hitting .365 on the spring, and his eight home runs lead both the Grapefruit and Cactus League. The 31-year-old is moving to the unfriendly confines of Safeco Field this season, but with the fences moving in and Morse possessing legitimate power all is not lost for his fantasy outlook. Morse is rising up draft boards with his strong showing in M's camp.

Michael Morse doubled, homered twice and drove in five runs Thursday against the Reds. He took Homer Bailey deep in the fourth and followed it up the next inning with a blast off of Clay Hensley. Morse has crushed the ball during Cactus League play, hitting .355 while cranking five over the boards and driving in 10.
