The Athletics recalled Schuemann from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann was sent down to the minors on Aug. 22 after slashing only .200/.303/.288 in 188 plate appearances, but he's back in the big leagues with the Athletics' active roster expanding to 28 men Monday. The 28-year-old will fill a utility role in September.

The A's optioned Schuemann to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann made the Opening Day roster, and he's bounced around the infield as needed while making the occasional start in the outfield. However, with Jacob Wilson (forearm) back from the injured list, the Athletics are no longer in need of Schuemann's services. The 28-year-old has slashed .200/.303/.288 with a 20:33 BB:K in 188 plate appearances this season.

Schuemann will start at second base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
With Luis Urias (back) sitting out the series finale, Schuemann will stay in the lineup for the fourth game in a row and will make his second straight start at the keystone. Assuming Urias is able to recover from the back issue in short order, he'll likely be part of a three-man committee with Schuemann and Gio Urshela to fill out the second-base and third-base spots until Max Muncy (hand) returns from the injured list.

Schuemann isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann is expected to receive regular action at shortstop with Jacob Wilson (forearm) now on the injured list, but the A's will give the former a day off Tuesday following his 0-for-4 performance Monday. Darell Hernaiz will fill in at short and bat ninth.

Schuemann went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
It was the second time this season that Schuemann recorded three hits in a game, highlighted by his solo homer off Ryan Pepiot in the second frame. Schuemann has started in just 11 games since the beginning of June, but he could see some additional playing time in the short-term if Luis Urias (hamstring) and Jacob Wilson (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Schuemann will start in left field and bat eighth in Thursday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann will enter the starting nine for the first time since the Athletics' 11-4 loss to the Astros on June 18, when he stepped in for a resting Tyler Soderstrom while Houston sent lefty Framber Valdez to the hill. Though the Athletics haven't been treating the left-handed-hitting Soderstrom as a strict platoon player, he'll sit again Thursday versus Tigers southpaw Dietrich Enns to create room in the lineup for Schuemann, who is slashing .225/.351/.325 with one home run and three steals over 97 plate appearances this season.

Schuemann went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 19-2 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann started at second base, entering the starting nine for the first time since April 29. He has yet to bat higher than ninth in the order while serving as a utility player throughout the early stages of the campaign. The 27-year-old has done fine when called upon, batting .250 with a .752 OPS, one homer, one RBI, six runs scored, two stolen bases and two triples over 39 plate appearances. However, it'll likely take injuries to other players for Schuemann to carve out a larger role.

Schuemann will start at third base and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann has the ability to play all over the infield and outfield, but with the Athletics having enjoyed generally good health so far this season from their position players, the 27-year-old utility man hasn't been able to pick up meaningful playing time. He'll be starting Thursday for just the third time in the Athletics' first 19 games.

Schuemann appears likely to win a roster spot in a utility role with the A's, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. He's hitting .227 (5-for-22) in nine games this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann made his big-league debut in 2024 with the A's and posted a .220/.311/.308 slash line with seven home runs and 14 steals in 133 games. He saw most of his playing time at shortstop, but Jacob Wilson appears set as the starting shortstop. Schuemann could be good source of speed (14 steals last season) if he finds significant playing time.

Schuemann is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Schuemann has slashed .141/.191/.188 with three runs scored and three RBI over 68 plate appearances since Sept. 1. Darell Hernaiz will start at third base Friday and bat ninth.
