Schuemann went 3-for-7 with a double, two walks and two runs during Wednesday's doubleheader against the Rangers.

Schuemann did the majority of his damage in the nightcap, when he got on base thrice via a pair of singles and a walk and came around to score twice. The rookie has now reached safely in five consecutive games, a stretch during which he 's lifted his batting average and on-base percentage to .216 and .348, respectively.

Schuemann is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

EDGE Analysis

After making five consecutive starts at the keystone and going 2-for-13, Schuemann now finds himself on the bench for the second game in a row, both of which have come against right-handed starting pitchers. He looks as though he'll play second fiddle to Abraham Toro at second base while Zack Gelof (oblique) is on the injured list.

Schuemann will start at second base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Orioles.

EDGE Analysis

Schuemann has now occupied the keystone in four straight contests and could be the preferred option over Abraham Toro at the position while Zack Gelof (oblique) is on the injured list. The 26-year-old rookie has done little to build much job security to this point, however, as he enters Sunday's contest with a .118/.250/.294 slash line across 20 plate appearances on the season.

Schuemann went 1-for-2 with a home run and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Guardians.

Schuemann's fifth-inning blast off of Logan Allen represented his first major-league hit and home run. He also added the first stolen base of his career later in the game after reaching on a walk.
