Schrock was reassigned to minor-league camp Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock had been in big-league camp as a non-roster invitee. He hit .364 with two doubles, two steals, one walk and one strikeout in 11 at-bats this spring. His ability to play all over the field and make contact at a solid clip (84.9 Contact% for his career) could earn him a promotion at some point this season.

Schrock (kneecap) agreed Monday with the Padres on a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
A calf injury and a fractured right kneecap limited Schrock to just 33 appearances between the majors and the Triple-A level in 2022, but the Padres are seemingly hopeful that he'll be ready to go by spring training. The 28-year-old has yet to gain much traction as a full-time utility player in the majors, but he has the ability to play all over the diamond as well as the corner outfield and has demonstrated excellent bat-to-ball skills during his time in the minors. Even if he fails to win a spot on the Friars' Opening Day roster, Schrock should at least make for strong organizational depth at Triple-A El Paso.

The Reds released Schrock (kneecap) on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock was unlikely to return to action this season after suffering a small fracture in his right kneecap in late July and was recently removed from the 40-man roster, so the Reds will allow the 27-year-old to get a fresh start on finding a new organization. The fractured kneecap along with a calf injury suffered in spring training limited Schrock to just 33 total games between the majors and Triple-A Louisville in 2022.

Schrock (kneecap) was designated for assignment by the Reds on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock was transferred to the 60-day injured list in early August while recovering from a fractured kneecap, but he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster with the Reds selecting Chase Anderson's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Even if the 27-year-old goes unclaimed on waivers, he's unlikely to return to action in 2022.

Schrock will miss 3-to-4 weeks with a small fracture in his right knee cap, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock was on the verge of joining Cincinnati's taxi squad, but he will instead spend a good portion of August recovering from his injury.

The Reds optioned Schrock to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds should get at least one of Mike Moustakas (illness) or Albert Almora (illness) back from the COVID-19-related injured list coming out of the All-Star break, so Schrock's demotion will open up a spot for a corresponding transaction. During his four-day stint with Cincinnati, Schrock went 0-for-2 while appearing off the bench in two games.

The Reds recalled Schrock from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock will make his return to the big club after Mike Moustakas was placed on the COVID-19-related injured list just over two hours before the Reds' series finale with the Yankees in New York. Based on the timing of his placement on the IL, Moustakas is likely to miss the Reds' three-game weekend series in St. Louis, but Schrock is expected to serve as a depth option on the bench rather than a direct replacement in the lineup for Moustakas.

The Reds optioned Schrock to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock went 4-for-24 with one RBI after returning from the injured list June 17. Big-league injuries will likely bring the versatile Schrock back to Cincinnati sometime before the season ends.

Schrock (calf) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville in late May and hit .282 with a homer, six runs and three RBI over 11 games with the minor-league club. He isn't starting Friday's game against the Brewers and isn't likely to be the primary option at any given position, but his defensive versatility should allow him to carve out playing time now that he's back to full health.

Schrock (calf) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock has been out all season after straining his left calf late in spring training. He'll be eligible to return from the 60-day injured list next Saturday, though it's unclear if the length of his absence will require a longer rehab assignment. There's also no guarantee he immediately joins the active roster once healthy. There are plenty of spots available on a Reds roster that has recorded the worst record in the league thus far, but Schrock's 93 wRC+ in 64 career major-league games makes him far from a lock to earn one.
