The Cardinals recalled Schrock from their alternate training site ahead of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Brewers, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock will provide the Cardinals with another healthy option at second base while Kolten Wong is day-to-day with a left side injury. The 25-year-old was up with the big club for most of August, going 3-for-17 at the dish with a solo home run while seeing action in 11 games.

Schrock was optioned to the Cardinals' alternate training site Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock saw a fair amount of playing time off the bench recently, but he went 0-for-12 with five strikeouts in his most recent action. John Nogowski was recalled from alternate camp in a corresponding move.

Schrock went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in a loss to the Cubs in the second game of a seven-inning doubleheader Monday.
EDGE Analysis
One of several players summoned from the team's alternate training site in Springfield for roster reinforcement, Schrock has made quite the early splash in his first taste of big-league action. In addition to his 372-foot shot in the fourth inning Monday, Schrock also went 2-for-3 in his big-league debut Saturday versus the White Sox. The 25-year-old has logged all three of his appearances at second base thus far, but he also has minor-league experience at third base, left field and designated hitter.

The Cardinals selected Schrock's contract from the taxi squad Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
St. Louis added a slew of players to the active roster after seven players were placed on the injured list the past two days, with all either confirmed or presumed to have tested positive for COVID-19. Since Schrock was already on the taxi squad and the Cardinals will be without two middle infielders (Paul DeJong and Edmundo Sosa) for the time being, the 25-year-old made for a natural choice to fill one of the openings on the active roster. Schrock lacks any high-impact power or speed, but he consistently showed strong contract skills in the minors and walked a career-high 12.3 percent clip at Triple-A Memphis in 2019.

Schrock has been included in the player pool that will report to the Cardinals' summer camp July 1, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock has logged 199 games at Triple-A Memphis over the last two seasons without a major-league invite, but he'll have an opportunity to make his case for a spot on the expanded Opening Day roster over the three-plus weeks ahead of the start of the 2020 season. The 25-year-old was once considered a particularly promising prospect in the Athletics organization after hitting over .300 in five of his first six professional stops, but he's seen a slight downturn in his cumulative hitting numbers since his trade to the Cardinals prior to the 2018 season.

Schrock (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list Thursday, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear what forced Schrock onto the shelf at this point. The move is retroactive to Wednesday, so he'll be eligible to return next Wednesday (May 15), should he ultimately prove ready. The 24-year-old was hitting .261/.381/.341 with four steals and a 17:20 BB:K in 26 games with Triple-A Memphis before landing on the IL.

Schrock is slashing .323/.370/.409 with five doubles, one home run, 11 RBI, four stolen bases, six walks and 15 runs over 100 plate appearances with Triple-A Memphis thus far in 2018.
EDGE Analysis
Just par for the course for the 23-year-old second baseman, who's hit over .300 at every minor-league stop with the exception of a nine-plate-appearance stint at High-A Stockton in 2016. Schrock enjoyed a meteoric rise through the Athletics' ranks before arriving in the Cardinals organization via trade this offseason. Given his early play with the Redbirds and Kolten Wong's considerable early-season struggles, it wouldn't be completely out of the question for Schrock to see time at the big-league level at some point in 2018.

Schrock (oblique) was moved from Cardinals camp to minor-league spring training Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Since the start of spring training, Schrock has been hindered by an oblique injury. Prior to being sent to minor-league camp, he'd been increasing his level of activity and was looking to appear in a game in the coming days. Schrock, who hit .321/.379/.422 over 106 games at Double-A Midland last season, will likely start the year at Triple-A Memphis.

Schrock (oblique) will go through a full baseball workout Thursday and could debut in games as early as next week, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The full workout will be his first since straining his oblique on the first day of camp. Schrock was dealt to the Cardinals as part of the return package for Stephen Piscotty. He projects as a utility infielder who could hit for a high average, get on base at a high clip and play second and third base. Schrock lacks the power or speed to project as much of a fantasy asset, even though his hit tool and approach are pretty impressive. Look for him to open the year at Triple-A.

Schrock has been dealing with an oblique injury this spring, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schrock was dealt to the Cardinals in the Stephen Piscotty deal this past December. The infielder has apparently been dealing with an oblique issue but the team has given no indication as to how long he'll be sidelined for. Consider him day-to-day for the time being until further details arise.
