Boyd allowed five runs (two earned) on six hits across 1.1 innings Thursday but escaped with a no-decision in an 11-8 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd wasn't very good in this one, but Kansas City starter Jorge Lopez was worse, as he allowed seven runs in his inning of work. The lefty entered the night with a solid 3.75 ERA and 0.94 WHIP since the beginning of August, so perhaps this was just a hiccup and he'll be able to rebound in his next (and likely last) start of the season, which is scheduled for Wednesday against the Twins on the road.

Boyd did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-4 win over the Indians, as he allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd kept Cleveland off the board through five innings and was in line for the win before he allowed back-to-back home runs to Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson with one out in the sixth to tie the game at 2-2. Despite sputtering at the end, it was still a solid outing for Boyd, and the lefty has now allowed just three earned runs with 18 strikeouts over his last two starts (12.1 innings). He'll look to keep it rolling his next time out Wednesday against the Twins.

Boyd didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Cardinals, allowing one run on two hits and a walk over seven-plus innings while striking out 11.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw was brilliant in delivering his sixth quality start in 10 outings since the All-Star break, holding St. Louis without a hit through six innings and without a run for seven, until Paul DeJong led off the eighth with a solo shot. Boyd's 11 strikeouts were a season high for the 27-year-old, and he'll take a 4.11 ERA into his next start Friday in Cleveland.

Boyd (8-12) took the loss Tuesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
All of the damage came in a five-run third inning, in which the first four batters reached -- including a leadoff home run -- and Boyd allowed four hits and two walks in all in the frame. The lefty has alternated good and bad starts over his last six, nabbing the win while allowing zero or one run in three while taking the loss and conceding at least four in the other three. He'll sport a 4.22 ERA and 1.14 WHIP heading into Sunday's matchup against the Yankees.

Boyd (8-11) fired six scoreless innings and earned the win Thursday, yielding six hits and a walk while striking out six in the 7-2 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd twirled his first scoreless outing of August, lowering his ERA to a respectable 4.09 after Thursday's start. On the year, the 27-year-old now owns a 127:42 K:BB across 141 innings. Boyd will take the mound again next Wednesday in Kansas City.

Boyd (7-11) allowed four runs on four hits in a loss to the Twins on Friday, striking out seven and walking zero in 6.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was pitching a shutout through five innings but then gave up a couple solo homers before putting two runners on in the seventh by way of a single and a hit batsman. Boyd was relieved by Louis Coleman, who promptly served up a three-run homer to Joe Mauer. Despite the 11 losses and the 4.27 ERA, the lefty has a good 1.11 WHIP while holding opponents to a .218 batting average. He's also sporting a healthy 121:41 K:BB in 135 innings.

Boyd (7-10) pitched six innings of one-run ball to record the win Sunday against the Twins. He allowed just two hits and a walk, while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The only damage against Boyd came on a sac fly in the second inning. Outside of that, the lefty was on cruise control, working through his six innings on just 88 pitches. Boyd has now allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five outings, lowering his season ERA to 4.20 in the process. He lines up to face the Twins again in his next start, which is scheduled for Friday.

Boyd (6-10) allowed four runs on six hits -- including two home runs -- over 5.1 innings in a loss to the Angels on Monday. He struck out four and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
This was a step back for Boyd after a great run coming out of the break in which he allowed just three runs while posting a 20:3 K:BB over 19 innings (three starts). He gave up three extra-base hits, including homers to two power-deficient players in Andrelton Simmons and Eric Young Jr. While Boyd is on the radar in mixed leagues given his recent success, he's still a dice roll from start to start. The 27-year-old lines up to face the Twins at home this weekend.

Boyd (6-9) pitched eight scoreless innings to record the win Tuesday against the Reds. He allowed four hits and a walk, while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was locked in and delivered his best all-around outing of the season. The eight innings are a new season high for the lefty, and this was just the second time that he hasn't allowed a run in a start, with the other being a five-inning performance against the Angels on May 28. Boyd has now strung together three straight solid starts, allowing just three earned runs over 19 innings during the stretch. He'll take a 4.22 ERA into his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday in Oakland.

Boyd (5-9) allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out seven over six innings in a win over the Royals on Wednesday. He did not walk a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Five of the seven hits against Boyd were singles (one bunt single), and he induced 14 swinging strikes on 95 pitches. He struggled mightily going into the break, posting a 9.78 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in his final five starts of the first half, but the extra rest seems to have done Boyd well (three runs, 13:2 K:BB over 11 innings since play resumed). The 27-year-old is still far from trustworthy, but he's trending in the right direction. Up next: a home start against the Red.
