Boyd (5-6) allowed four earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out 11 across seven innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd got off to very strong start, striking out five of the first six batters he faced. While his strikeout pace slowed, Boyd managed an impressive 20 swinging strikes on 96 total pitches. However, he was undone by allowing three home runs -- all solo shots -- and has now allowed at least one home run in five consecutive outings. Boyd's ERA sits at a season-worst mark of 3.72, which he'll try to correct in his next start, currently scheduled for Tuesday at the White Sox.

Boyd allowed five runs over six innings and did not factor into the decision in Friday's loss to Cleveland. He gave up seven hits and two walks, while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd allowed a two-run home run to Carlos Santana in the first inning, but then held Cleveland off the board in the next three innings. However, he ran into trouble in the fifth and sixth, allowing two more home runs and a total of three runs in the two frames. Boyd has now allowed 10 runs (nine earned) over his last two outings, and his ERA has crept up to 3.61, though the lefty still has a stellar 118:19 K:BB through 94.2 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Rangers.

Boyd (5-5) was charged with the loss after lasting just four innings against the Royals on Thursday. He surrendered six hits on five runs (four earned) and two walks while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd handed the Royals the lead with a solo shot to Nicky Lopez in the second. He then allowed Martin Maldonado to score on a balk. It took Boyd 51 pitches to get through the first two innings, which proved to haunt him soon enough. In the fourth frame, the southpaw gave up a two-run double to Whit Merrifield, who scored on a throwing error by Niko Goodrum. The outing was Boyd's shortest since a May 14 loss to the Astros. On the bright side, the 28-year-old ace has fanned at least seven batters for the sixth straight game, further improving his impressive 112:17 K:BB ratio to go with a 3.35 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. Boyd will look to bounce back with a favorable matchup in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Boyd struck out eight but didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Twins, allowing three runs on nine hits over seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Mitch Garver and C.J. Cron both took him deep, but Boyd still delivered his 10th quality start of the season while fanning at least seven batters for the fifth straight outing. The southpaw continues to enjoy a breakout campaign, posting a 3.08 ERA and dazzling 105:15 K:BB over 84.2 innings, and he'll look to get back in the win column Thursday in Kansas City.

Boyd allowed three runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and zero walks across five innings during a no-decision against the Braves on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander needed the Tigers offense to stage a late comeback in order to avoid a loss, but Boyd posted at least seven strikeouts and no more than one walk for the four straight start. His 6.5 K/BB, which is in the top three in the American League, is a major reason why Boyd is experiencing a breakout season. Boyd is 5-4 with a 3.01 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 97 strikeouts in 77.2 innings this season. Last year, Boyd had a 4.39 ERA with a 3.1 K/BB. He's expected to make his next start at home versus the Twins on Saturday.

Boyd (5-4) pitched six scoreless innings to record the win Tuesday against the Orioles. He allowed six hits and a walk, while striking out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd went six scoreless innings for the second straight outing, and he's lowered his season ERA to 2.85 in the process. A lack of run support has the lefty stuck with just a 5-4 record, but Boyd has been outstanding to start the season, which is further evidenced by his 88:15 K:BB through 72.2 innings. Boyd will look to keep his scoreless streak intact when he takes the mound again Sunday against the Braves.

Boyd didn't factor into the decision against the Marlins on Thursday despite throwing six scoreless innings, giving up five hits, striking out seven and walking one as the Tigers eventually lost 5-2.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was in line for a win, but closer Shane Greene wound up getting tagged with a blown save after the Marlins struck for all five of their runs in the ninth inning, all unearned. The 28-year-old is still off to a strong start to the season, as he's sporting a 3.11 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and an excellent 80:14 K:BB while holding opponents to a .214 batting average over 66.2 innings.

Boyd (4-4) allowed four runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts and no walks across 6.1 innings while taking a loss against the Athletics on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old struck out at least eight batters for the third time in his last five outings, but the long ball hurt him once again. After yielding only two homers in his first seven starts, Boyd has tossed up five bombs in the past 16.1 innings. That's raised his ERA more than half a run. He is 4-4 with a 3.41 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 73 strikeouts in 60.2 innings this season. Boyd is scheduled to start next at the Mets on Friday.

Boyd (4-3) was tagged for three earned runs on five hits and two walks over four innings to take the loss Monday against the Astros. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
This was the shortest start of the season so far for Boyd, who gave up two home runs to a potent Houston lineup. The lefty needed 96 pitches to get through his four innings and recorded a season-low two strikeouts. Despite the tough outing, Boyd still has a sparkling 3.15 ERA and 65:13 K:BB through 54.1 innings this season. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is scheduled for Saturday against the Athletics.

Boyd (4-2) gave up one run on three hits while striking out six through six innings in taking the win over the Angels on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd delivered another dominant outing, only allowing three baserunners in six innings. He is on an impressive run of seven consecutive quality starts since his first outing of the season. The 28-year-old has a 3-1 record with a 2.75 ERA and a 47:10 K:BB over the last month. Boyd will look to keep rolling in his next start Monday against the Astros.
