Boyd (6-10) allowed seven runs on four hits and five walks across six innings to take the loss Sunday against the Twins. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was able to limit the hits, but the five walks were a new season high, and he also gave up two home runs. The lefty was unable to build off his last start, when he allowed just one run across seven innings, and that's been the story lately for Boyd. Since the All-Star break, the 28-year-old has a 5.71 ERA, marking a stark contrast to the strong start he had to the season. Boyd will look for better results his next time out Saturday against these same Twins.

Boyd has been reinstated from the paternity list and will start Sunday's game against Minnesota, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was initially on track to take the hill Friday night, but after being placed on the paternity list Tuesday, the Tigers elected to reconfigure their pitching rotation. The southpaw owns a 4.24 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with a 201:37 K:BB over153 innings this season for Detroit.

Boyd was placed on the paternity list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd will be away from the team for the next few days while on the paternity list, though he should be back in time to make his scheduled start Friday in Minnesota. Tyler Alexander has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move.

Boyd gave up a run on two hits and two walks while striking out nine over seven innings Sunday against the Rays. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd allowed just one run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly to center, but he ended his outing with six scoreless frames. Unfortunately, his team didn't provide enough run support for Boyd to emerge with the victory. The 28-year-old managed to bounce back after a pair of disastrous starts, as he'd yielded 12 runs in his last two performances prior to Sunday's clash.

Boyd (6-9) allowed seven runs (six earned) across 5.1 innings and took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners. He gave up seven hits and two walks, while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd was victimized four times by Seattle home runs, and the long ball has been a big problem for the lefty lately. He was tagged for three homers in his last start, in which he allowed five runs in just 2.2 innings. On the season, Boyd has now allowed 30 home runs in 146 innings, and his ERA climbed to 4.38 after the rough start Tuesday. He'll look to keep the ball in the park and get back on track in his next outing, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Rays.

Boyd allowed five runs on six hits and three walks over 2.2 innings and did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 10-8 win over the Royals. He struck out just one.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a tale of two seasons for Boyd, who had a 2.85 ERA across his first 12 starts of the year. Since then, Boyd has a 5.56 ERA across his subsequent 12 starts. The 188 strikeouts in 140.2 innings are nice, but the lefty has generally looked more like a solid starter rather than a true ace. He'll look for better results in his next scheduled start Aug. 15 against the Mariners.

Boyd didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Rangers, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings while striking out nine.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty celebrated staying in Detroit at the trade deadline with another sharp performance, missing out on his 13th quality start of the year by a single batter while fanning at least eight batters for the seventh straight start. Boyd will take a 3.91 ERA and 187:30 K:BB through 138 innings into his next outing Thursday, at home against the Royals.

Boyd allowed one run on three hits and three walks across 6.1 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Mariners. He struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd retired the first nine batters he faced and went scoreless into the seventh inning. He ran into trouble with one out, issuing a pair of walks before Kyle Seager's RBI double chased him from the game. Still, it was an excellent start for Boyd, who notched double-digit punchouts for the sixth time this season. His name has come up in trade rumors of late, but if he remains with the team past the deadline his next start will likely come on the road against the Rangers.

Boyd gave up two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings during Tuesday's 13-inning loss to the Phillies. He struck out eight and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd served up a 434-foot, two-run homer to Roman Quinn during the second inning, but that's all the Phillies were able to muster off the southpaw. The 28-year-old surrendered at least four runs in each of his past six starts, so Tuesday's outing was a welcome sight. Boyd will carry a 4.07 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 168:26 K:BB into Sunday's start at Seattle.

Boyd (6-8) allowed five runs on six hits with no walks across six innings to take the loss Thursday against Cleveland. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Boyd threw 68 percent of his pitches for strikes as he notched a healthy strikeout total, but a pair of two-run home runs accounted for a significant chunk of the damage done against him. He otherwise pitched quite well, limiting baserunners to good effect. Boyd has struggled of late, allowing at least four earned runs in each of his last six starts while going deeper than six innings just twice in that span. He'll look to get back on track next week at home against the Phillies.
