Wieters was ejected from Thursday's game in the fifth inning for arguing balls and strikes, Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He jawed a bit after being rung up on a check-swing, and home plate umpire Dan Bellino was having none of it. For Wieters, it was just his second career ejection. The 29-year-old went 1-for-3 with a strikeout before leaving the game, raising his average to .270.

EDGE Analysis
After his second multi-hit game of the season and his first home run Tuesday, Wieters will get the night off. He's riding a four-game hitting streak, going 5-for-14 over that span with two extra-base hits and four RBI, which has brought his average up to .265. Caleb Joseph will get the start in his place Wednesday.

Wieters went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the season in Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
It was the second multi-hit game Wieters has had through his first nine. After missing 223 games over the past two season due to injuries, the 29-year-old is off to a decent start. At a thin position, the catcher makes a good option in most leagues considering the large workload he is expected to have. Even when he's not catching, Wieters can play first base and fill the DH role.

Wieters is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters is out of the lineup for the second time in three days Friday as Caleb Joseph will take back over behind the plate for teh second game of a four-dame set in Arlington. Wieters raised his average on the young season to .222 on Thursday with a 1-for-3 showing that included a double and a walk. He'll likely draw back into the order Saturday as either the Orioles' catcher or DH.

Wieters is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters struggled with an elbow injury during the spring and the Orioles seem committed to giving him some extra days off, particularly with a solid backup in Caleb Joseph. Wieters is off to a decent start, hitting .208 in six games this season.

Wieters is not in the lineup Thursday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Winters caught both of the Orioles' first two games, but he'll take a seat to rest up for the weekend series with the Rays. This isn't overly surprising, as the backstop dealt with some elbow issues during spring training that would lead the Orioles to give Wieters a few more days off in the beginning of the season in order to reduce the amount of stress on his elbow. Caleb Joseph will take his place behind the plate and bat ninth.

Wieters (elbow) will be the starting catcher on Opening Day, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters has been progressing well from elbow injury he incurred earlier in spring training, and now feels well enough to start behind the dish on Opening Day. He'll sit out of Saturday's spring tilt, however, so he may still be limited in some capacity in terms of starting multiple days in a row. That should become clearer once the regular season rolls around, though.

Wieters (elbow) caught Tuesday's game, his first time behind the plate since March 12, and went 1-for-3 with a home run against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
As long as Wieters feels OK in the morning, he should be a near lock for the Opening Day roster. The Orioles would not have put him on the field unless they were confident he could play because they would have lost the ability to backdate his DL eligibility. While Wieters should start on Opening Day, it remains to be soon how often he will rest. Keep in mind Wieters did not catch on back-to-back days last year.

According to manager Buck Showalter, Wieters (elbow) expects to be ready for Opening Day, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters showed some encouraging signs in Sunday's spring contest, making six total throws on the afternoon. The backstop fully expects to be ready for the season opener, and it sounds as if the Orioles may be willing to let him loose, barring any setbacks.

Wieters (elbow) seems highly questionable for Opening Day, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters served as the DH Thursday and got in a game for the first time in 12 days. He also threw on the side from 120 feet and could throw to bases in the coming days. It seems like the Orioles would rather place Wieters on the DL than keep him on the roster in a DH only capacity. Wieters will not play in another Grapefruit League game unless he can catch so that the Orioles have the option to backdate his DL date.
