Wieters is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters will be replaced by Francisco Pena, who is making his Orioles debut Thursday. Although Wieters is spending his second game this series on the bench, he has accumulated 17 hits in his past 11 games and has boosted his batting average by 52 points in that span.

Wieters is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters is riding a nine-game hitting streak and is hitting .354 in May, but he will get a day off after catching an early game Sunday following a night game the day before. Caleb Joseph will get the start behind the plate in Wieters' place.

Wieters is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Caleb Joseph will take over behind the plate Friday after Wieters was able to catch three games in a row against the Astros. Wieters has been one of Baltimore's hottest hitters of late, slashing .435/.435/.652 with a home run and three RBI over the last week, but manager Buck Showalter will give him the day off to keep him fresh. Look for Wieters to return to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Indians.

Wieters is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters will get a break from catching Sunday, giving way to Caleb Joseph behind the plate. Since the beginning of May, Wieters has really picked it up at the plate, posting a 1.038 OPS to bring his season batting average up to a much-improved .283 mark. He's currently riding a four-game hitting streak, collecting nine total base hits over that span.

Wieters went 2-for-4 with a double and the winning three-run home run in Saturday's come-from-behind victory over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles were scoreless through eight frames, but Wieters came up with a pair of ducks on the pond and brought everyone home with a shot to left-center. He has been on a tear of late, with a .481 average, three homers and eight RBI in his last seven starts.

Wieters is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Orioles playing a day game after a night game, Caleb Joseph will replace Wieters, who started four of the previous five contests. Wieters does get a bit more rest than the typical starting catcher -- he's on pace for only 384 at-bats and 414 plate appearances, despite staying healthy through the first seven weeks of the season.

Wieters went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, two RBI and two runs in Wednesday's 5-2 win against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The catcher raised his average 23 points with his first three-hit effort of the year. After a slow start (.214 in 56 at-bats in April), Wieters has picked it up as of late, hitting .324/.343/.559 in 34 at-bats in May. He's struggled with injuries the past two seasons after posting three straight campaigns of 20-plus home runs from 2011-2014. Not to say he will get back to those numbers (because he likely won't), however Wieters can certainly be a valuable catcher is most formats, assuming he remains healthy.

Wieters is in Wednesday's lineup and catching for the second straight day, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters also caught consecutive days last week. He will continue to see frequent days off, but it is a good sign that the comfort level with his elbow has reached a point that he can catch more often. Unfortunately, the Orioles are not getting what they bargained for with Wieters in terms of his offence when they picked up his qualifying offer. Wieters is slashing .233/.290/.326 with two home runs, 11 RBI and six runs on the season.

Wieters is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles continue to act conservatively with Wieters' workload, as the backstop will sit out Sunday after catching just three times in the last five games. The frequent rest might be disrupting his rhythm at the dish -- Wieters is hitting just .232 with two homers in 82 at-bats on the campaign.

Wieters is out of the lineup Thursday, but he is expected to start behind the plate Friday and Saturday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
Caleb Joseph will get his second straight start Thursday as he generally catches when Ubaldo Jimenez is on the hill. Wieters will start Friday and Saturday against Detroit before getting another scheduled day off for Sunday's series finale.
