Wieters is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the A's.
EDGE Analysis
This was expected, as Wieters caught the first game Saturday, and catchers typically don't start both games of a doubleheader. Caleb Joseph will start behind the dish in the nightcap and bat ninth.

Wieters is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Caleb Joseph will take over after Wieters caught for Kevin Gausman on Thursday, as the two continue to split time evenly behind the plate. Wieters did catch back-to-back games at the end of April, but clearly the Orioles are still reluctant to give him a true starter's workload. Wieters is batting .234/.300/.313 so far this season.

Wieters is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters finally played back-to-back games at the end of April, but he's still stuck splitting time down the middle with Caleb Joseph. Wieters' power hasn't really come through this season, hitting just one home run and two doubles as he's only mustered a .217/.288/.300 slash line.

Wieters is in the lineup Saturday but will rest Sunday, Rich Dubroff of CSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters will catch back-to-back games for the first time all season, and he'll bat fifth Saturday against White Sox starter Mat Latos. After the day off Sunday, Wieters will likely be back in the fold for Tuesday's series opener against the Yankees.

Wieters is back in the lineup Wednesday, batting sixth and starting at catcher, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
To keep Wieters healthy and fresh, he was given the day off Tuesday. While he's struggled over the past week, going just 2-for-12, Wieters is still the team's first-choice catcher. He replaces Caleb Joseph in the lineup.

Wieters is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters got the start behind the dish Monday and manager Buck Showalter has attempted to prevent him from catching on consecutive days, so the move doesn't come as much of a surprise. Caleb Joseph will handle the catching duties Tuesday in his stead and bat ninth.

Wieters is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
With manager Buck Showalter continuing to refrain from starting Wieters at catcher on consecutive days after Wieters dealt with an elbow issue in spring training, Caleb Joseph will get a look behind the plate. Look for Wieters, who is batting .238 with one homer through 42 at-bats this season, to return to the lineup Monday against the Rays.

Wieters is back in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
After receiving the night off Friday, Wieters will be back behind the plate Saturday and he's set to bat sixth in the order behind DH Mark Trumbo. Wieters will be facing Royals right-hander Kris Medlen, who has strung together a pair of impressive starts to begin the 2016 campaign.

Wieters is out of Friday's lineup against the Royals, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters is out of the lineup one day after getting ejected. He has not started back-to-back games behind the plate this season. This is the same strategy the Orioles employed last season when Wieters returned from his elbow surgery. It looks like there is not enough confidence in his health at this point to warrant consecutive days. The Orioles have plenty of players they can use as the DH, so Wieters looks like he will see plenty of time coming off the bench this season.
