Davidson went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two runs scored in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Davidson had been mashing earlier this season but Tuesday's second-inning homer snapped an 0-for-17 skid. There's a reason we don't see in the lineup every day. He has a lot of boom-or-bust in his bat, and until we see longer stretches of boom, Davidson is not going to be a lineup regular.

Davidson went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 12-1 win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
After a four-game absence, Davidson returned with a bang. He's been Chicago's hottest hitter in a part-time role in the early going, hitting .368 with four homers and 14 RBI in 40 plate appearances. However, his inconsistent playing time and 42.5 percent strikeout rate will make it hard for him to keep this up. Unless an injury opens up more playing time for the 26-year-old, Davidson is strictly an AL-only option.

Davidson is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Davidson has been one of the few capable performers for an anemic White Sox offense this season with a .324 average, three homers and 10 RBI across 34 at-bats, but it doesn't look like manager Rick Renteria is ready to commit to him in a full-time role. With Todd Frazier back to full health following a bout with an illness and Melky Cabrera handling DH duties Sunday, both Davidson and Cody Asche will find themselves out of the lineup. As the left-handed option of the two, Asche is expected to see most of the time at DH over Davidson once Cabrera returns to his usual spot in left field.

Davidson is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
He had been filling in for Todd Frazier (illness) at third base lately, but Yolmer Sanchez will get the start at the hot corner and Cody Asche is starting at DH against righty Masahiro Tanaka. Davidson is hitting .324 with three home runs in 36 plate appearances, but his 17:1 K:BB and .533 BABIP are unmistakable harbingers of extreme regression in the coming weeks.

Davidson wasn't in Saturday's starting lineup but entered the game when Todd Frazier left due to illness.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier apparently returned to the lineup too soon following a bout of the flu and was not able to play a full game. Even if Frazier was fully healthy, it's surprising that Davidson was out of the lineup considering how much an impact he's made of late (two homers, six RBI in previous three games). He could have served as the designated hitter but manager Rick Renteria continues a fascination with Cody Asche, who went 0-for-3 on Saturday and is 2-for-23 (.087) with nine strikeouts over seven games.

Davidson went 2-for-4 with a home run in Friday's 2-1 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was Davidson's third of the season and second in as many nights. He remains a high-strikeout guy, but it appears changes he made to his swing in 2016 is resulting in better contact. The new, shorter swing resulted in improved numbers at the minor-league level in 2016 and led to his callup to Chicago last year. That callup lasted just one game before he suffered a season-ending foot injury, but he's now healthy and leading the White Sox in homers, RBI, slugging and OPS.

Davidson went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's 10-4 win over Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Davidson filled in for Todd Frazier (illness) at third base for a second straight game and has knocked in five runs over those two games. While he's made an impact with his bat this season -- Davidson's knocked in a team-leading eight runs -- the boom-or-bust bat that's marked his career is fully present. The 26 year old has struck out 10 times over his first 18 at-bats.

Davidson's two-run single in the second inning stood up in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Cleveland. He was a late addition to the lineup, replacing third baseman Todd Frazier who was scratched due to an illness.
EDGE Analysis
Davidson's hit safely in four of the five games he's appeared in, but has fewer at-bats than Cody Asche who has been the primary designated hitter. Manager Rick Renteria has used the left-handed hitting Asche against right-handers. But that might, or maybe should, change given that Asche is 1-for-15 (.067) to start the season while Davidson's tied for the team lead in RBI (five).

Davidson was a late addition to Wednesday's lineup. He'll bat seventh and play third base.
EDGE Analysis
Todd Frazier (illness) was initially slated to man the hot corner, but he ended up taking the night off due to flu-like symptoms. Davidson will enter the fray in his place, and will look to build off his strong start against Indians starter Danny Salazar.

Thu 4/6/17 9:12 PM

Davidson went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, three runs scored and three RBI in Thursday's 11-2 win over the Tigers. He made his first start of the season, serving as the designated hitter and batting seventh.
EDGE Analysis
Where has this guy been? Davidson, a one-time highly regarded prospect, had seen his career hit the skids the closer he got to the majors. He played just one major-league game since 2013. Pitchers got him to chase and making consistent contact became a problem. He's part of a group that will share the DH spot and could get the bulk of those starts if he can improve his contact rate and deliver on the power he's showed in the minors.
