Carpenter went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo homer and two runs in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
He and catcher Tony Cruz represented the bright spots in the Cardinals' offense, as no one else on the team managed an extra-base knock and no one but Carpenter scored any runs. Carpenter's still working on a career-low batting average, but .269 isn't a big deal when you've hit a stunning 28 homers. Indeed, fantasy owners have been rewarded with stunningly spectacular dividends from a guy who entered the year with only 25 long balls in the past three seasons combined.

Carpenter went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Monday's 3-0 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter's run would be the difference maker, as the third baseman scored on a routine single mishandled in the outfield by Gregory Polanco in the ninth inning. The 29-year-old has been the catalyst of St. Louis' offense this season, leading the team in home runs and runs batted in. With four multi-hit performances in his last seven games, Carpenter is primed to lead the Cardinals into the postseason.

Carpenter smashed his 27th home run of the season, finishing 2-for-5 in the loss to Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
So much for Carpenter not offering much power. One of the negatives owners faced with Carpenter from a fantasy perspective is that he wasn't expected to have much power compared to a typical third-baseman. It appears he's successfully swapped some of his average for a very nice boost in power. Carpenter is currently fifth among all third baseman in home runs this year.

Carpenter (hip) is back in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter was forced to leave Saturday's game early, but it appears that move was more precautionary than a reaction to a tangible injury. He'll take his usual spot at third base and batting leadoff.

Carpenter left Saturday's game with left hip tightness, Jennifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear when Carpenter suffered the injury, but the Cardinals were pretty quick to remove him from the game. More information should be announced once the game comes to a conclusion.

Carpeneter went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in a 4-3 loss to Milwaukee on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a hell of a season for the Cardinals third baseman, as he has a career-high 26 home runs and 81 RBI. He's been especially hot over his last 10 games, hitting .400 with five home runs and six doubles in that span. He is far more valuable at second base and that eligibility alone will alter his draft status greatly going into next season.

Carpenter went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four runs batted in, guiding St. Louis to a 10-2 win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter took opposing pitcher Brandon Finnegan deep in the third and fifth innings, providing his fifth and sixth home runs of the year against left-handed pitching. The 29-year-old has showed off his power lately, hitting five home runs in his last 31 at-bats.

Carpenter went 2-for-5 Saturday with a two-run shot, his 24th home run of the season.
EDGE Analysis
It's his third homer, sixth extra-base hit, and third multi-hit performance in his last four games. With the Cardinals having already locked up a playoff spot, Carpenter seems to be heating up at the right time.

Carpenter went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and a solo homer in Wednesday's win over Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
This has been quite the bizarre season for the veteran third baseman -- he's now doubled his previous career-high home run total, but remains on track to post the worst full-season batting average and OBP of his career. There's been a clear change in approach for Carpenter, whose strikeout rate has surged as he's put more emphasis on trying to hit balls out of the yard. As he approaches his 30th birthday, he's almost totally remade his profile as a hitter.

Carpenetr went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in a 4-3 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Carpenter has had a very streaky season with dominant months and ice-cold months, but at the end of the season, the numbers will look very strong. In 133 games played Carpenter has a .260 average, with 21 home runs, 72 RBI and 83 runs scored. Look for Carpenter to finish off the season strong, as the Cardinals are trying to lock the NL-Central title down the final month of the season.
