Carpenter (undisclosed) is set to rejoin the team in Cleveland on Tuesday, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports. As expected, Carpenter will rejoin the Cardinals on Tuesday, but his condition is still somewhat up in the air as the team searches for the cause of his recent "extreme fatigue." The organization has not stated whether Carpenter will play Tuesday, but the fact that he'll be back with the team is certainly a step in the right direction.

After running a number of tests, the Cardinals haven't found a virus causing Carpenter's extreme fatigue. Moreover, when asked if Carpenter had a cardiovascular issues, manager Mike Matheny said "he hasn't heard one thing about that...," the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Carpenter is supposed to rejoin the Cardinals on Tuesday in Cleveland, but there's still some mystery involving his status.

Carpenter is not with the Cardinals in Pittsburgh because he is dealing with "extreme fatigue", MLB.com's Jennifer Langosch reports. Carpenter was out of the lineup Thursday against the Cubs, and he'll now miss an entire weekend series in Pittsburgh. He's presumably dealing with some kind of illness or medical condition, as it would otherwise be quite unusual for a player to miss four straight games due to fatigue. There's no guarantee Carpenter will be ready for Tuesday's game in Cleveland.

Carpenter is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates. Carpenter got his first off day of the season Thursday against the Cubs, so it's surprising to see him out of the lineup again Friday. He's likely dealing with an injury of some sort.

Carpenter is out of the lineup Thursday, the Chicago Tribune's Mark Gonzales reports. This is Carpenter's first day off this season and it's well-deserved as he's slashing .333/.403/.620. While the power numbers are likely unsustainable, we've seen Carpenter among the league leaders in batting average before, so he could very reasonably be dominant in average and runs over the rest of the season. Mark Reynolds gets the start at third base Thursday.

Carpenter bounced back from his ugly night at the plate Monday to go 1-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and a walk in Tuesday's win over Chicago. Carpenter took Cubs' starter Kyle Hendricks deep with two on in the fifth inning and added a sacrifice fly to plate Kolten Wong just an inning later. Carpenter is off to arguably the best start of his career posting an almost unbelievable 20 extra-base hits in his first 104 at-bats this season, good for a .644 slugging percentage. He currently ranks sixth in all of baseball with a 1.056 OPS.

Carpenter (head) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs. Carpenter's early exit from Sunday's game was due to some lightheadedness, but it seems Monday's team off day provided him sufficient time to rest and recover. The team never gave an exact diagnosis, but perhaps Carpenter was just dealing with some dehydration. He will man third base and bat second Tuesday, as usual.

Carpenter left Sunday's game against the against the Pirates in the seventh inning after feeling "lightheaded," FOX Sports Midwest reports. It's not clear if the lightheadedness was related to dehydration or some other condition, but Carpenter should be considered day-to-day in advance of Monday's series opener with the Cubs. The third baseman clubbed his fourth homer of the season in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead prior to his departure.

Carpenter hit his second home run of the season Sunday, going 2-for-3 in the win over Cincinnati. Carpenter is now hitting .400/.449/.689 following his seventh consecutive multi-hit game and is off to a terrific start with 10 runs scored and 10 RBI in just 11 games. The power isn't going to be what you'd get from a typical top third baseman but Carpenter should deliver a solid average and a ton of runs scored again this season.
