Carpenter (triceps) will return to the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers. Carpenter suffered a right triceps contusion in Saturday's game after getting hit by a pitch, but the issue was minor enough that he'll rejoin the lineup Sunday. Assuming nothing further occurs, he should be good to go moving forward.

Carpenter was diagnosed with a right tricep contusion and will be considered day-to-day, Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest reports. Carpenter left Saturday's game after getting hit by a pitch in the first inning. Kolton Wong came into the game at second base and Pete Kozma moved to third base. It seems like Carpenter could be ready to return for Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers.

Carpenter left Saturday's game against the Dodgers after getting hit by a pitch in the elbow, Jenifer Longosch of MLB.com reports. Kolten Wong came into the game to play second base, while Pete Kozma moved to Carpenter's third-base position. It seems like this was precautionary, but if he does miss some extra time, Mark Reynolds and Kozma could see increased playing time.

Carpenter went 1-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in a 3-0 win against the Dodgers on Friday. Carpenter continues to raise his impressive on-base percentage, having walked seven times in the past five games. While walks aren't a sexy fantasy stat, all those times on base help Carpenter score a ton of runs from his No. 2 spot in the Cardinals' batting order. He continues to be one of the more valuable players in fantasy, especially considering that he's eligible at both second and third base in most leagues.

Carpenter went 1-for-3 on Sunday against the Royals with a pair of walks, two runs scored, two RBI and his eighth home run of the season. The 29-year-old has been a tremendous source of counting stats this season, stolen bases aside, and has now accumulated 31 runs scored and 27 RBI to go along with the eight homers and a .986 OPS that ranks fourth in the National League. Carpenter will likely continue to produce these types of numbers in the middle of a potent Cardinals lineup.

He's also scored 29 runs, driven in 24 and racked up 25 extra-base hits, good for second in all of baseball.

Carpenter is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets. Carpenter is out of the lineup for the first time since he missed four straight games from May 7-10 because of extreme fatigue. The cause of his fatigue was never discovered, but he seems to be doing just fine. Known primarily for his excellent contact and on-base skills, Carpenter oddly has 11 strikeouts, two home runs, two doubles and zero walks in 32 at-bats since rejoining the lineup. Given the small sample size and solid power, it's not yet cause for any concern. He's likely getting Tuesday off because the Cardinals played a 14-inning marathon Monday night.

After striking out his first three times up, Carpenter hit his sixth homer of the year Thursday, a two-run shot that sent the Cardinals to a 2-1 victory over Cleveland. Carpenter found no luck against Trevor Bauer, but former Cardinal lefty reliever Marc Rzepczynski came in to face him in the eighth and promptly gave up the homer. Carpenter endured a bizarre bout of fatigue last week, but appears to be over that and is having an impressive bounce-back campaign.

Carpenter went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and a RBI in Tuesday's win over the Indians. He supposedly missed the last three games due to fatigue, which the team attributes to his tireless work ethic. It seemed like the time off served him well, and hopefully he will not need other similar multi-game breaks later in the season.

Carpenter (undisclosed) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Indians. While he Cardinals have yet to find the cause of his extreme fatigue, Carpenter is apparently feeling better, as he'll start at the hot corner Tuesday night, even though he could be used as a DH. There's still some uncertainty here, but owners will be happy to have Carpenter back in the lineup.
