Scutaro hasn't played since Saturday due to back spasms, but opposed to Kevin Youkilis, he is expected to avoid the disabled list. Mike Aviles will fill in for him again Friday night against the Royals while Jed Lowrie plays the hot corner.

The Red Sox are taking on the Rays in a day-night doubleheader. Scutaro has been battling a stiff back for a few weeks and the Red Sox want to get him healthy for the stretch run. Mike Aviles is playing shortstop in the first game Tuesday.

Marco Scutaro reported feeling fine after leaving Monday's game with dizziness and an irregular heartbeat.
Scutaro made his exit in the fourth inning and was back to normal by the time the game ended. He's listed as day-to-day and may get a few contests off as a precautionary measure. "He was real light-headed and had little bit of an elevated heart rate," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said. "He was checked here and he checked out fine."
