Updating a previous item, Marco Scutaro was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Mariners with a stiff back. Mike Aviles is playing shortstop in his absence while Jed Lowrie plays third in place of Kevin Youkilis. Scutaro can be considered day-to-day.
