Williamson will be up with the Giants on Friday as part of the taxi squad but he hasn't been officially recalled at this time, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The outfielder has forced the Giants' hand by turning in a scorching start to the year at Triple-A while San Francisco's offense has struggled mightily. Williamson slashed .487/.600/1.026 with six home runs in 11 games at Triple-A Sacramento and could be activated as early as Friday's game against the Angels, which comes in an American League park.

Williamson is hitting very well at the Triple-A level and is pushing for a call-up, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a very small, five-game sample, but Williamson is hitting .588/.667/1.118 to start the year at Triple-A Sacremento. That hot start follows an offseason in which Williamson worked with hitting guru Doug Latta (most famous for helping Justin Turner to his mid-career breakout) in order to revamp his swing and improve his launch angle. A longer sample will be necessary before we know for sure that Williamson has changed his profile, but the early returns are unequivocally positive. No outfielder on the Giants' active roster has options remaining, but if Williamson keeps hitting, the team will open a path for him.

Williamson was sent to the minors Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williamson reworked his swing this offseason and was hitting .333/.349/.726 with four home runs this spring. Still, there was no room for him on the roster. If he mashes at Triple-A Sacremento, that could be evidence of his new swing working out, and he could be back with the Giants later this season. If he's the same hitter he's always been (a .244/.301/.423 line in 94 games for Sacremento last year), he'll remain not much of a fantasy asset.

Williamson worked with hitting coach Doug Latta over the offseason, NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Latta's most notable success story is Justin Turner, who enjoyed a late breakout after working with the coach to increase his launch angle. Williamson is revamping his swing in an attempt to join the league-wide flyball revolution and enjoy his own breakout at age 27. He'll need something to click, as he owns a career .235/.288/.397 line (and a 56.6 percent groundball rate) in 92 major-league games and is battling for a bench outfielder role. Early returns are positive, as he's 9-for-21 with three homers and two doubles thus far this spring. It's far from guaranteed that his swing change will have lasting results, but if he does work his way to a larger role with a legitimately new skill set, he could be a deep sleeper.

Williamson was removed in the sixth inning of Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks after fouling a pitch off his right hand earlier in the contest, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williamson was able to complete the at-bat and subsequently played the next two half innings in the field before heading to the dugout for a pinch hitter the next time his turn in the batting order came up. Given that Williamson was initially able to stay in the game, his hand injury likely isn't a major concern, so there's a good chance he'll return to action in at least one of the team's final three contests of 2017.

Williamson went 3-for-3 with his third home run of the season in a 3-1 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Williamson was unfazed by the tough task of facing Clayton Kershaw, delivering three of his team's eight hits off of the Cy Young contender. The 27-year-old has started two of the last three games, but they have all come against southpaws. Williamson and his .177 isolated power rating will likely retreat to the bench in favor of Jarrett Parker on Monday, but he could be a cheap source of power in daily leagues when the Giants face the left-handed Robbie Ray on Tuesday.

Williamson will start in left field and bat eighth Monday against the Rockies, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants recalled Williamson from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday and inserted him into the lineup for the series finale with the Cardinals. The 27-year-old responded to the appointment with a pair of doubles in four at-bats, and will garner another nod Monday with Jarrett Parker (oblique) sidelined. The Giants are hopeful Parker will be able to return by the weekend, but for now, Williamson looks like he'll be the top option in left field.

Williamson was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williamson had a strong month of August at the Triple-A level, posting a .877 OPS with five long balls. That effort will get him a promotion, and an opportunity to see immediate playing time in an outfield that's been ravaged by injuries this season. The hope is that Williamson can turn it around after a lackluster showing with the club earlier this year -- he has just a .156 batting average in 35 plate appearances in 2017, striking out at a 37.1 percent clip.

Williamson was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Williamson spent just two days in the big leagues, but received just one at-bat and failed to collect a hit. He'll head back to the minors to get more playing time with the hope of moving back to the majors later in the season.

Williamson was recalled by the Giants on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williamson hasn't played much with the Giants this season, appearing in just 10 games after seeing time in 54 contests a year ago. During his brief opportunity, Williamson has only managed to record five hits in 31 at-bats, with 12 strikeouts and just one extra-base hit (a home run) in those chances. He will provide more depth in the outfield while Austin Slater heads to the DL due to a hip injury.
