Luke Scott is scheduled to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery Tuesday.
The surgery will be performed by Dr. James Andrews. Scott, 33, has tried to play through a torn labrum in his shoulder to awful results this season, batting just .220/.301/.402 batting line with nine homers over 236 plate appearances. He's making $6.4 million this season and is arbitration-eligible again this winter, so he's likely to be non-tendered.

Luke Scott will receive a second opinion on his shoulder from Dr. James Andrews before he decides whether or not to have surgery to repair a torn labrum.
"What I'm going to do is gather all the information that I need as quick as I can and then sit down, pray about it, find out what's going to be the best course to take," Scott said. "It all depends on their schedule and when they can take me. I'm available whenever they can get me in. I'm gonna go get another professional opinion and put together all the information I need to make this decision." Scott attempted to play through the discomfort in his shoulder since May, but to no avail. He's done for the season no matter which course of action he takes.

Orioles placed OF Luke Scott on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder.
Scott was just activated from the DL Friday but had continued soreness in the shoulder during his three at-bats. His season is in jeopardy and he's likely to ultimately succumb to surgery. At the very least, he'll be sidelined well in to the second half.

Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun confirmed that Luke Scott's (shoulder) season "could be over."
Scott returned from the DL Friday, but it was painful to watch his at-bats, as his shoulder is clearly still not right. It's not clear at this point whether he'll undergo surgery or just rehab, but he'll be sidelined for a long time either way. Josh Bell will be promoted to take his place.

Luke Scott (shoulder) will play for 3-5 days before being reevaluated.
Scott was activated from the disabled list Friday, but that doesn't mean he's out of the woods yet. He'll give it a go, but if he's still feeling pain in his shoulder in the coming days, it's possible he may finally opt for surgery.

Orioles activated OF Luke Scott (shoulder) from the 15-day disabled list.
Out since July 3, Scott will start at DH and bat sixth on Friday evening. He hit three home runs in three rehab games with Double-A Bowie, so he can be reinserted into your lineup with a reasonable degree of confidence, though he was hitting just .223/.305/.408 before landing on the disabled list.

Luke Scott (shoulder) is still feeling pain in his ailing right shoulder.
Scott will be shut down for a few days before resuming his rehab assignment. He went 2-for-6 with a home run over his first two rehab games with Double-A Bowie. While he's still hoping to play out the season, it's just a matter of when before he undergoes surgery.

Luke Scott will report to Double-A Bowie Sunday if his right shoulder is okay.
It is possible that Scott could be activated Tuesday. Everything will need to go well for this to happen but this would be good news as he wasn't expected back until the end of the week. Scott received a cortisone shot in his right shoulder on Friday so we are a little skeptical that he will be able to make it back on Tuesday.
