Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Pirates and Red Sox are among the teams interested in Padres' reliever Luke Gregerson. ESPN's Jayson Stark reported earlier today that the Padres are more likely to move Joe Thatcher than Gregerson, but that hasn't stopped teams from trying. The 29-year-old has a 2.91 ERA and 39/9 K/BB ratio over 43 1/3 innings this season. He remains under team control through 2014.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Padres would "have to be inspired by an offer" to trade either Luke Gregerson or Joe Thatcher. It could just be posturing, as both relievers have seemed very available up to this point. Both Gregerson (who's making $3.2 million this season) and Thatcher (who's making $1.35 million this season) will be arbitration-eligible for a final time this winter.

Luke Gregerson struck out a pair in a scoreless ninth inning and earned the victory Monday against the Reds. For owners speculating on saves, Gregerson isn't a bad two-day gamble if he's available on your league's waiver wire. If San Diego ships closer Huston Street out of town prior to Wednesday night, Gregerson would be in line to take over the ninth inning. Of course, Gregerson himself is on the trading block and San Diego has received plenty of interest. The 29-year-old right hander has a 2.91 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 47 appearances and is arbitration eligible for the final time this offseason.

CBS Sports' Danny Knobler reports that teams involved in the market for relievers expect Luke Gregerson to be traded. The Padres have been "getting a lot of hits" on Gregerson and he's considered a strong candidate to be dealt prior to Wednesday's non-waiver trade deadline. The 29-year-old right hander has a 2.98 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 46 appearances and is arbitration eligible for the final time this offseason. The Tigers are believed to have interest in Gregerson, while the Red Sox, Dodgers, Braves and Diamondbacks are expected to be looking for relief help.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Padres are "getting a lot of hits" on Luke Gregerson. Heyman adds that the Pads are getting more calls on Gregerson than they are on Huston Street. That's no surprise given that Gregerson has performed better in recent seasons, is cheaper and isn't injury-prone. The Tigers are one team known to have interest in the San Diego setup man.

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Tigers are "showing continued interest" in Luke Gregerson. With the way Joaquin Benoit has pitched, it seems likely that the Tigers would be looking at Gregerson as a potential setup man. The Padres reliever is having another terrific year, posting a 2.85 ERA and 36/8 K/BB ratio over 41 innings this season.

Luke Gregerson gave up hits to all four Giants he faced and took a blown save and a loss on Wednesday. Gregerson has already pushed back into a setup role with Huston Street back, but he's still struggling. He's given up six runs and 11 hits over 3 2/3 innings in his last five appearances.

Luke Gregerson was pulled out of a save opportunity Wednesday after giving up two singles and a run against the Braves. The Padres had a couple of potential double play balls that they couldn't turn behind Gregerson, settling for one out on each, and with the two outs and a man on, they decided to go get lefty Tom Layne to face Jason Heyward. Another singled followed, but Nick Vincent took over from there and struck out Justin Upton to end the game. It seems the Padres are looking at a closer-by-committee until Huston Street returns. Gregerson might still be the top option in the ninth, but Dale Thayer is also a possibility for saves.

Luke Gregerson got a one-out save Tuesday, striking out the only Brave he faced in the ninth. Gregerson didn't get to start the ninth tonight after his ugly blown save Sunday, but he did improve to 3-for-4 in save chances since Huston Street went down. Even after allowing three runs on Sunday, his ERA stands at 1.76.

Luke Gregerson picked up a save despite giving up a run and three hits in the ninth Saturday against the Jays. Gregerson made the Padres nervous in his first save chance with Huston Street on the DL, but he was able to get Emilio Bonifacio to line out and Jose Bautista to ground out to strand the tying run on second and end the game. He's expected to keep getting save chances while Street is out.
