Luis Mendoza was quality in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Indians, allowing just two runs on four hits in 7 1/3 innings.
Mendoza struck out three and walked one in improving to 5-7. His only real mistake came in the fourth, where he served up a solo home run to Carlos Santana. Surprisingly quality in five of his past six starts, Mendoza will be sporting a 4.32 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 58/41 K/BB ratio when he throws the first pitch of his Monday matchup with the White Sox in Chicago.

Luis Mendoza pitched well in a losing effort against the White Sox on Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits over 7 1/3 innings.
Mendoza racked up six strikeouts while walking four in the game. He allowed a solo shot to Adam Dunn in the first inning, then gave up a second run on an RBI ground out in the 2nd, but settled in nicely afterwards and pitched a solid game. Since returning to the rotation on June 12, Mendoza has compiled a 3.11 ERA and 31/10 K/BB ratio in six starts, spanning 37 2/3 innings. He's always possessed tremendous stuff, and is worth a look in deeper mixed leagues for his next outing against the Twins at home on Friday.

Luis Mendoza was extremely impressive in a victory over the Twins on Friday, allowing just one run on five hits in eight innings of work.
Mendoza fanned five and didn't walk a batter in the game. He was a very popular sleeper in the preseason before falling on his face in his first attempt in the Royals rotation. The talent is surely there however, and he'll have plenty of mixed league value with his strikeout totals. He'll look to carry over the momentum from this strong performance when he squares off against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Tuesday.

Luis Mendoza was tagged for four runs over 4 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Cardinals.
Mendoza was effective against the Cardinals last week, but he had no such luck this time around. The 28-year-old right-hander gave up seven hits and two walks and stuck out a pair and now has an underwhelming 4.95 ERA and 30/30 K/BB ratio across 60 innings of work this season. Fantasy owners are advised to look elsewhere.

Luis Mendoza pitched a terrific ballgame against the Brewers on Tuesday night, allowing just one earned run on one hit over six strong innings of work.
Mendoza struck out four and walked two. A very popular fantasy sleeper selection in deeper drafts this spring, Mendoza had been a disappointment with a 5.36 ERA through 43 2/3 innings heading into play Tuesday. He'll try to stay hot in his next start on Sunday against the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Luis Mendoza allowed four runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Mendoza has been widely inconsistent in his five starts this season and now owns a 5.03 ERA and 1.88 WHIP since being promoted from the bullpen. The 28-year-old journeyman should be off the radar in AL-only leagues.

Luis Mendoza held the Indians two two runs over five innings in Thursday afternoon's 4-2 victory.
Mendoza earned his first victory of the season along the way while dropping his ERA from 6.92 to 6.00. The 28-year-old right-hander should still be avoided in all fantasy leagues, but he may have bought himself another few turns in the Royals' starting rotation.

Luis Mendoza struggled again on Saturday against the Blue Jays, allowing four runs on 10 hits in just 3 1/3 innings of work.
Mendoza walked one and didn't strike out a batter in the game. A popular preseason sleeper candidate, Mendoza has been dreadful and looks like the odd man out once Felipe Paulino is ready to return to the rotation. If he manages to stay in the rotation, Mendoza's next scheduled start would be at Cleveland next week.

Luis Mendoza continued Kansas City's run of lousy pitching in Sunday's blowout loss to the Indians, allowing nine runs (five earned) on nine hits, four walks and two home runs in just four innings of work.
If Mendoza was looking to ensure the Royals began counting down the days until Felipe Paulino can come off the disabled list, he accomplished it. The 28-year-old journeyman is off the radar in AL-only leagues.

Luis Mendoza held the A's to one run in 5 2/3 innings but took a loss on Monday night.
Mendoza walked four and gave up five hits, but all of those hits were singles. If he can avoid the home run ball, he may turn out to be pretty decent for the Royals, since he does generate an awful lot of grounders. Still, when hitters do manage to lift the ball against him, they often take it right out of the park.
