Luis Mendoza pitched well in a losing effort against the White Sox on Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits over 7 1/3 innings. Mendoza racked up six strikeouts while walking four in the game. He allowed a solo shot to Adam Dunn in the first inning, then gave up a second run on an RBI ground out in the 2nd, but settled in nicely afterwards and pitched a solid game. Since returning to the rotation on June 12, Mendoza has compiled a 3.11 ERA and 31/10 K/BB ratio in six starts, spanning 37 2/3 innings. He's always possessed tremendous stuff, and is worth a look in deeper mixed leagues for his next outing against the Twins at home on Friday.
