Duda (back) received two cortisone injections in each of his hips Saturday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duda sat out of Thursday and Friday's team activities (including the Grapefruit League opener) due to a stiff back and now it appears that he's dealing with soreness in his hips, as well. It's currently unclear if the 31-year-old is simply dealing with standard soreness or if it's something more concerning. He's considered day-to-day for now.

Duda took Thursday off after his back stiffened up following batting practice Wednesday, The New York Daily News reports. "No problems with it really," Duda said. "I am fine."
EDGE Analysis
He didn't play in Friday's Grapefruit League opener against the Red Sox and, despite Duda's assurances, any issues with his back this spring are going to raise some red flags for fantasy owners after his rough 2016 season. He's still got plenty of time before Opening Day to show that he's 100 percent, but if the back problems linger through March, be prepared to drop him in your rankings.

Duda crushed a long home run during batting practice Tuesday, and appears to be fully recovered from last season's back issues, The New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
With free agency looming next offseason, the 31-year-old slugger has every incentive to put together a big campaign, but staying healthy remains Duda's top priority. He also suggested that the core strengthening exercises he's been doing as part of his rehab have improved his power at the plate, a scary thought for opposition pitchers given the 57 homers he hit in 2014-15 before the stress fracture he suffered in his back last May hindered his stroke.

Duda agreed to a one-year, $7.25 million contract with the Mets on Thursday, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old slugger got a slight bump in pay raise for 2017 despite playing in jst 47 contests last season due to a back issue. Duda did smack 57 home runs in the two seasons prior and posted an OPS over .800 in both campaigns, giving him a track record to point to in negotiations. If he can remain healthy in 2017, the left-hander projects as the team's everyday first baseman. However, his struggles against left-handed pitching could result in a platoon at the position unless he can improve.

Duda is not on the Mets' roster for Wednesday's Wild Card game matchup against the Giants, James Wagner of the New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duda struggled down the stretch after returning from a back injury, and the expectation is that the Mets, who are carrying three catchers on the roster, will turn to James Loney at first base Wednesday night.

James Loney, and not Duda, looks to be the starting first baseman for the Mets' Wild Card contest Wednesday against the Giants, Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duda has struggled to regain his stroke at the plate after missing three months with his back injury. In addition, he has had some soreness in that area while also having some difficulties in the field. While neither Loney nor Duda have had much success against Madison Bumgarner, at least Loney has seen more action of late and could have some success against the tough southpaw.

Duda (back) is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Duda was scratched from the Mets' last game Wednesday due to his sore back, but he will be back in there Friday on the heels of a team off day. Duda will man first base and hit seventh against Phillies starter Alec Asher.

Duda was a last-minute scratch from Wednesday's lineup, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets didn't release an updated lineup but Duda was absent to begin the game, replaced by James Loney at first base. Apparently Duda "felt some soreness" during pregame activity but the report did not specify where he felt the discomfort. Duda just returned from a lengthy absence due to a back injury on Sept. 18.

Duda had a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning of the Mets' 12-1 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Duda is slowly regaining his stroke at the plate after missing more than three months with his back injury. With the Mets aiming to secure a Wild Card berth and do some damage in the post-season, look for Duda to be in the lineup the last four games of the regular season.

Duda is not in the lineup Monday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
This will be the second straight day Duda sits out of the lineup, although it comes as no surprise to fantasy owners considering lefty Adam Conley is taking the mound for Miami. Eric Campbell will fill in for the slugger Monday evening.
