Gibson (illness) will not pitch in a game in the first week of spring action, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander is still gaining back strength from his time suffering from E. coli in late January. He's largely over the illness itself, but the team still wants to ease him back into game action since the issue did take a bit of a toll on his body. Gibson's exact return date is uncertain, but he's expected to be ready by the time Opening Day rolls around.

Gibson (illness) said he believes he'll be ready to go by Opening Day, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson noted that he's pretty much recovered from the E. coli issue he was dealing with earlier in the offseason. His status should be updated as he continues to work back to 100 percent health, but it sounds like the veteran right-hander will be ready to go by the start of the season, barring any setbacks. Gibson will reprise his role in the Twins' rotation after posting a 3.62 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 32 starts (196.2 innings) for Minnesota in 2018.

Gibson is recovering from E. coli, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson's illness originally came out due to his unavailability for TwinsFest, but now there's finally a name to the issue at hand. This doesn't seem like an issue that will keep him out of spring training much if at all, but more information on his status should come forth as he moves along in his recovery process at the team's facility in Fort Myers.

Gibson is dealing with an unspecified health issue, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The nature and severity of the issue are currently unknown, but it came to light when Gibson announced he wouldn't be able to attend TwinsFest this season as a result. He's currently back at the team's facility in Fort Myers working through the issue and getting back to full strength. It's unclear if this is something that will sideline him at all at the beginning of spring training or not, but more information should come forth if there is any reason for concern.

Gibson (10-13) picked up the win in Saturday's 8-3 victory over the White Sox, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The streaky right-hander finished 2018 with three straight wins, posting a 2.76 ERA in five September starts to lower his mark on the season to a career-best 3.62. Gibson also set a new personal high in strikeouts with 179 and innings pitched with 196.2, and he'll be looking for a healthy raise this winter as he heads into his final arbitration-eligible year.

Gibson (9-13) got the win against the Athletics on Sunday, giving up just one earned run on seven hits over 7.1 innings, striking out three and walking three in the Twins' 5-1 victory.
EDGE Analysis
He only punched out three batters but it was still an excellent outing from the right-hander, who tossed 114 pitches to make it through his 7.1 frames. His 9-13 record might not show it, but Gibson has provided unexpectedly solid and consistent fantasy value this season, as he's now sporting a respectable 3.68 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP and a 172:76 K:BB over 190.2 innings.

Gibson (8-13) pitched 6.2 innings and took the win Sunday, allowing five runs on 11 hits (one home run) while striking out six in the 9-6 victory over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson had lost his last two outings despite allowing just three runs in 12.2 combined innings. Oddly enough, he earned his first win since Aug. 17 after allowing five runs on Sunday. He coughed up two runs in the first inning and was later tagged for a two-run shot in the fifth by Adalberto Mondesi. Gibson will carry a 3.78 ERA into Saturday's start in Oakland.

Gibson (7-13) allowed one run on four hits and four walks across 5.2 innings Monday to take the loss against the Yankees. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson threw just 53 percent of his pitches for strikes while tying his second-highest walk total of the season. He induced eight groundball outs as he kept the visitors at bay through the first five innings, but a solo home run from Gary Sanchez in the sixth was enough to put him on the hook for his 13th loss. Gibson was coming off a quality start in which he lost to the Astros and has now allowed just three earned runs over his last 12.2 innings, despite suffering a pair of losses in those outings. He'll take a respectable 3.67 ERA into this weekend's slated matchup with the Royals.

Gibson (7-12) allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk across seven innings Monday to take the loss against the Astros. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson gave up a solo home run in the first inning and allowed a pair of unearned runs on two hits and an error in the second. He allowed another solo shot in the fourth but was able to settle down over his final three frames, though he received little offensive support and eventually suffered his 12th loss. Gibson struggled to find the strike zone at times, throwing just 59 percent of his pitches for strikes, but his 12 groundball outs helped limit the damage. He had allowed nine earned runs over 10 innings in his previous two starts and will look to build on this improved outing in his next scheduled start against the Yankees.

Gibson's next start will come Monday in Houston as the Twins begin to employ a six-man rotation, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson was initially in line to start Sunday against the Rangers, but will now face a peaking Astros' lineup that is finally getting back to full health. It's unclear who will be joining Minnesota's rotation, but it's expected to be a minor-leaguer that will be called up when rosters expand to 40 this weekend.
