Gibson will be pitching on six days rest Friday, but manager Paul Molitor wants him available for Tuesday's Wild Card game -- just four days later -- so he will limit his pitches in an effort to keep him fresh if needed.

Gibson (12-10) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks striking out six across seven innings to earn the victory.

EDGE Analysis

Gibson gave up single runs in three different innings while receiving six runs of support which helped him earn his 12th victory of the campaign. Despite his 5.02 ERA on the season, he's now fired quality starts in six of his last seven outings while lowering his ERA over a full run during that time, making him a player who's been a strong fantasy option down the stretch. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Indians.

Gibson (11-10) allowed five runs on three hits and five walks while striking out eight batters through six innings to collect the win against Toronto on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

This clearly wasn't Gibson's best form, and it was especially discouraging after entering on a roll. The 29-year-old righty posted a 1.38 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 7.2 K/9 through his previous five starts, after all. He lines up for consecutive road starts against Detroit and Cleveland to finish the year, and the matchup against the Tigers sets up as a bounce-back spot for Gibson.

Gibson (10-10) tossed six scoreless innings in Tuesday's win over the Padres. He allowed four hits and struck out six.

EDGE Analysis

The Twins offense afforded Gibson a seven-run lead over the first two innings and the 29-year-old was able to cruise from there. He was dominant in his six innings of work, allowing just four Padres to reach base before being pulled from the lopsided contest after throwing just 74 pitches. Gibson has now recorded five consecutive quality starts and is proving to be a fairly reliable fantasy starting pitching option against lesser opponents. He lines up for a Sunday start against the Blue Jays, whom he held to just two runs over 6.2 innings during his Aug. 27 start.

Gibson held the Royals to two runs on eight hits with one walk and no strikeouts over seven innings in Thursday's no-decision.

EDGE Analysis

Despite the lack of strikeouts, Gibson was effective once again after beating Kansas City in his previous start. His season-long numbers still look ugly, but the righty has picked things up over his past four outings. Gibson's 3-0 in that span and has allowed just five runs in 26.2 innings for a 1.69 ERA. He has an excellent opportunity to keep the good times rolling in his next start Tuesday against a Padres offense that's produced the fewest runs in the league.

Gibson (9-10) earned the win over the Royals on Saturday, allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out five and did not issue a walk.

EDGE Analysis

While the offensive explosion was the story of the night for Minnesota in a 17-0 rout, Gibson was very good in his own right. Gibson has earned wins in three straight starts and has posted a 20:2 K:BB in that stretch, but those performances have come against some of the coldest offenses in the American League (White Sox, Blue Jays and Royals). That said, he does get the Royals again his next time out.

Gibson (8-10) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk over 6.2 innings to earn the win Sunday against the Blue Jays. He struck out seven.

EDGE Analysis

Gibson allowed a run on consecutive hits in the second inning but was able to settle down and navigate through the next 4.2 frames while only allowing one additional run to come across. He's notched two straight quality starts but remains a rather unappealing fantasy option with his 5.61 ERA. He'll square off against the Royals on Friday.

Gibson (7-10) earned the win over the White Sox on Tuesday, giving up one run on seven hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out eight.

EDGE Analysis

The righty recorded a season high in strikeouts en route to just his fifth quality start of the year. Gibson still carries a 5.76 ERA, though, and he'll need more than one good start against a rebuilding foe to earn the trust of fantasy GMs again. He'll next take the mound Sunday in Toronto.

Gibson (6-10) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three batters through four innings during Thursday's loss to Cleveland.

EDGE Analysis

Gibson allowed 20 runs through 27.1 innings over his past five starts for a 6.59 ERA and 1.65 WHIP. The underwhelming stretch continued Thursday against Cleveland, as the 29-year-old righty continues to show little fantasy promise. Outside of streaming Gibson against weak opponents, it's difficult to find incentive to utilize Gibson in the majority of fantasy settings. He lines up to face the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field in his next start.

Gibson's scheduled start against the Twins on Wednesday was postponed by rain.

EDGE Analysis

With the makeup game being scheduled as a doubleheader on Thursday, the Twins will simply push Gibson back a day to join Jose Berrios on the double card. The 29-year-old, who owns a 6.02 ERA in 20 starts this season, will pitch Game 1 against Carlos Carrasco.
