Kevin Gausman is expected to start Friday against the Yankees in Baltimore.
The Orioles have yet to make an official announcement, but Gausman is the most logical candidate for the assignment. The 22-year-old has an ugly 7.66 ERA over his first five starts in the majors, but he should be worth using in AL-only leagues against the slumping New York lineup.

Orioles recalled RHP Kevin Gausman from Triple-A Norfolk.
Gausman will pitch out of the Orioles' bullpen initially but could join the starting rotation at some point soon. The 22-year-old righty has a 7.66 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over his first 24 2/3 major league innings and can be ignored in most standard fantasy leagues for now.

Orioles optioned RHP Kevin Gausman to Triple-A Norfolk.
Gausman gets the boot despite a pretty good performance against the Red Sox in which he allowed two runs (coming on back-to-back solo homers) and struck out five in 5 1/3 innings. Overall, though, he did have a 7.66 ERA, and the Orioles need a fresh arm after playing 13 innings tonight. The Orioles will probably bring up a spot starter to pitch next Tuesday, and they should have Wei-Yin Chen back not long after that.

Kevin Gausman was shelled for seven runs in 4 1/3 innings Saturday as the Orioles fell to the Rays.
Gausman showed great promise in his last outing, tossing six innings of one-run ball against the dangerous Tigers offense. But it all fell apart for him on Saturday at Tropicana Field. The Rays tagged the young right-hander for eight hits and racked up three walks. Gausman will try to bounce back next time out against the Royals. The talent is there, but the execution is probably going to remain inconsistent.

Kevin Gausman had the best start of his young career Sunday, tossing six innings of one-run ball in a 4-2 victory over the Tigers.
Gausman failed to pick up his first big league win, as the Orioles' offense rallied after he had already left the game, but it hardly diminishes his effort. He gave up only five hits, didn't issue a walk and struck out five. The young righty will try to keep the momentum going next weekend in Tampa.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Kevin Gausman remains in line to start on Sunday against the Tigers.
Gausman was blasted for seven runs over four innings against the Nationals Tuesday and now holds an 11.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP over his first two outings. He may very well not be ready yet, but it's not surprising that the O's aren't pulling the plug just yet. He'll need to take a step forward on Sunday, though.
