Gausman gave up three home runs Monday after allowing just two over his past nine starts. The 33-year-old had notched three-consecutive quality starts prior to Monday's setback, but he has been unable to find his footing this season. The right-hander will look to rebound in his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend in Oakland.

Gausman was sharp Tuesday, yielding one run and fewer than five hits for a second straight start to tally his fourth win in his last six outings. However, he snapped a streak of four consecutive outings with six or more Ks and yielded three extra-base hits. Gausman has allowed one or fewer earned runs in six of his last eight starts but owns a 4.14 ERA on the year. He's tentatively scheduled for a start against Baltimore on Monday.

Gausman (3-3) picked up the win over the Tigers on Thursday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings.

Gausman had his best stuff of the year Thursday, striking out a season-high 10 batters while not allowing a hit until the sixth inning when Javier Baez tagged him for a leadoff single. The right-hander induced 18 whiffs on the night and struck out at least two batters in three different innings. He's now won his last three decisions (spanning five starts) and has given up one run or fewer in five of his last seven outings.

Gausman came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

The veteran right-hander cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth and allowing all three of his runs. It was a solid bounce-back effort for Gausman after he got tagged for seven runs (six earned) in his last outing, and the quality start was his third of the season. The right-hander had given up only two earned runs across his prior four starts, but Gausman's luck deserted him Saturday as Minnesota scored three times in the first inning on some soft singles and shoddy defense, and the adjustments he tried to make in the next two frames only made matters worse. The Jays were able to rally late to take Gausman off the hook for his fourth loss, however. He'll carry a 4.95 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Rays.

Gausman (2-3) picked up the victory Saturday, tossing 5.1 shutout innings on three hits and two walks against the Nationals. He struck out eight.

EDGE Analysis

The Nats made Gausman throw a season-high 112 pitches to get through his 5.1 frames, but the right-hander was able to keep them off the scoreboard. Gausman's eight strikeouts were his highest total this season, and he boasted a 48 percent whiff rate on his splitter. The righty's velocity remains down, but he's allowed just two earned runs over his last four starts and finally piled up some strikeouts in this one. Gausman is projected to face the Twins at home in his next outing.

The lone run against Gausman came in the sixth inning on a homer by Freddie Freeman. After allowing 12 earned runs over 7.1 innings in his first three starts, Gausman has rounded into form with just two earned runs allowed across 18.2 frames since. He'll look to keep the ball rolling during a weekend road series against the Nationals.

Gausman (0-3) took the loss Tuesday versus the Royals after giving up three runs (all unearned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out two batters across 6.2 innings.

A strong start for Gausman fell apart in the fifth frame after a catching error by Vladimir Guerrero extended the inning, allowing the Royals to drive in all three of their runs. Although Gausman was tagged with the loss, there were plenty of positives to take away from his outing Tuesday, as it marked his longest start of the season. The 33-year-old righty has also now given up just one earned run in 11.2 innings across his last two appearances, giving him a decent amount of momentum heading into his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Dodgers.

Gausman did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing a run on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.

EDGE Analysis

It was certainly a step in the right direction for Gausman, who'd allowed 11 runs over just four innings in his previous two outings. The right-hander held New York scoreless until Juan Soto's two-out RBI double in the fifth inning. Overall, Gausman is 0-2 on the year with a still-rough 8.16 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB across four starts (14.1 innings). He'll look to build on Wednesday's effort in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week in Kansas City.
