Gausman (side) won't start during the Blue Jays' upcoming series against the Padres, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays recently said that Gausman isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list as he deals with left side discomfort, but manager John Schneider said Sunday that he wants to give the right-hander "a little bit of extra rest." The earliest Gauman would take the mound would be Friday in Seattle, but a firm date for his next start hasn't yet been revealed.

Gausman's (side) next scheduled start has yet to be determined, but he isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Left side discomfort caused Gausman to be scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Diamondbacks, but he seems to have avoided a significant injury. If he progresses well over the next few days, he could be an option to start during next week's series against the Padres, which runs from Tuesday through Thursday.

Gausman was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Diamondbacks due to left side discomfort, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman has been one of the best starters in the league this season, recording a 3.03 ERA and a career-high 32.6 percent strikeout rate in 19 starts prior to the break. Losing him for an extended period would be a big blow, but for now, the issue appears relatively minor. An MRI showed nothing of concern, so the righty is merely considered day-to-day for now. Toronto has an off day Monday, so it's possible Gausman can skip just one start and avoid the injured list. Chris Bassitt will take the hill Saturday.

Gausman (7-5) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against the Tigers. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman allowed three consecutive hits with one out in the first, which led to the only two runs of the game. The right-hander was basically lights-out aside from the opening frame, however, and allowed only three more baserunners from the second inning on before being relieved by Nate Pearson in the seventh. Gausman has recorded at least seven strikeouts in each of his last three starts, though he's now lost his last two decisions (spanning three starts) after previously winning five straight.

Gausman did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over five innings against the Red Sox. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman fell one inning shy of picking up a fourth consecutive quality start, allowing just two runs across five innings of work. The veteran right-hander has been exceptional in 2023 outside of a few rough outings, giving up three or fewer runs in 15 of his 18 appearances including six shutout performances. However, Gausman sports a 3.04 ERA through 109.2 innings, a number that's largely inflated by individual starts of eight, seven and six earned runs. Outside the trio of poor starts, Gausman boasts a 1.48 ERA with a 133:20 K:BB over 97 frames.

Gausman (7-4) was stuck with the loss Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over six innings against San Francisco. He struck out 12.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays couldn't muster any run support for Gausman, who allowed just one run while recording double-digit strikeouts for the seventh time this season. It's Gausman's first loss since May 4 as he lowered his ERA to 3.01 with a 1.13 WHIP and 139 strikeouts (second most in the league) through 17 starts (104.2 innings) this season. The 32-year-old right-hander will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, currently lined up for this weekend against the Red Sox.

Gausman (7-3) earned the win Wednesday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings against the Marlins. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman cruised through the first three innings as Toronto's offense backed him with five runs early. He would run into some trouble in the fourth, however, giving up three consecutive hits to open the inning which would lead to two runs coming home for the Marlins. The right-hander allowed eight hits on the afternoon, the most he's surrendered in a start since May 5 against the Red Sox, but was still able to notch his seventh win of the season. Gausman, who had allowed one run or fewer in four of his last five starts coming in, has now won his last five decisions (spanning seven starts).

Gausman (6-3) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
While the veteran right-hander wasn't as dominant as he's capable of being, Gausman was just as stingy as he reeled off his 11th quality start in 15 trips to the mound -- tying him for second in the majors in QS behind Marcus Stroman's 13. Gausman has won four straight decisions over his last five outings, posting a 2.73 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB through 29.2 innings over that stretch, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is likely to come on the road next week in Miami.

EDGE Analysis
He had tentatively been lined up for Saturday, but the Blue Jays will move Gausman up to Friday, when he will be on regular rest. Toronto wll go with a bullpen game Saturday in Texas.

Gausman did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing six runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.2 innings against the Twins. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman failed to get through the fifth inning for the first time since May 4 and third time this season. Coming into Sunday, the right-hander had given up just six earned runs over his past six starts (40 innings) and tallied 55 strikeouts during that stretch. It's safe to chalk Gausman's poor performance up as an outlier, but it's worth noting that this is the third time he's allowed at least six runs this year. Despite the blowup outings, the 32-year-old still boasts a strong 3.12 ERA across 14 starts (86.2 innings) and has 117 strikeouts, which is the second-most in MLB behind Spencer Strider (121).
