Gausman signed a five-year, $110 million contract with the Blue Jays on Sunday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Gausman drew interest from several teams during free agency, but he'll land with the Blue Jays, who had expressed interest in the 30-year-old's services for several years. The right-hander made 33 starts for the Giants during the 2021 campaign and posted a career-best 2.81 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 192 innings.

Gausman (0-1) took the loss to the Dodgers on Saturday in Game 2 of the NLDS, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings.

EDGE Analysis

The 2021 NL Cy Young candidate wasn't quite at his best; Gausman allowed an RBI single to the opposing starting pitcher, Julio Urias, in the second inning. He allowed two of the first three batters he faced in the sixth inning to reach and both would ultimately come around to score after Gausman exited the game. Gausman has experience pitching in relief, but the Giants will likely want to reserve their ace for Game 5, or Game 1 of the NLCS.

Gausman will start Game 2 of the NLDS on Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Gausman turned in two strong starts to close out the regular season and recorded a 1.38 ERA and 0.77 WHIP in 13 innings during that time. The right-hander will have a full week of rest ahead of Saturday's appearance.

Gausman allowed one run on six hits and one walk Saturday in a no-decision against San Diego. He also had five strikeouts.

EDGE Analysis

The right-hander put together his second straight quality start, holding the Padres to a Manny Machado RBI single in the sixth inning. Gausman will go into the postseason having allowed just two runs in 13 innings over his last two starts while striking out 16 against just one walk.

Gausman allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out 11 across six innings in the win over the Rockies on Sunday. He did not factor into the decision.

Gausman surrendered a solo home run to C.J. Cron in the fifth inning. He didn't allow any further damage and he struck out double-digit batters for the fourth time this season. The 30-year-old has a 2.87 ERA and 1.04 WHIP with 222 strikeouts, good for sixth most in all of baseball. His last start of the regular season is tentatively lined up for Saturday against the Padres, although the Giants could push him back to maximize their odds in the postseason.

Gausman got a no-decision in Tuesday's 6-5 win against San Diego, allowing four runs on nine hits with three strikeouts in four innings.

Making a second straight start against San Diego, Gausman permitted four runs yet again while surrendering an identical nine baserunners. The 30-year-old allowed runs in three different innings and failed to eclipse three strikeouts for the second time in six turns. Gausman has struggled in five September starts despite a 2-1 record, pitching to a 5.33 ERA and allowing multiple runs in every start. He'll look to turn things around on Sunday in Colorado.

Gausman (14-6) allowed four earned runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven across five innings to take the loss Thursday against the Padres.

EDGE Analysis

Gausman surrendered at least one run in three different innings, leading to the disappointing outing. As a result, he was charged with his first loss since July 30. In his last 10 starts, Gausman has a 4.08 ERA across 53 innings, though he's still provided value by racking up 68 strikeouts and earning five wins in that span. On the season, Gausman has maintained a 2.78 ERA with a 208:49 K:BB across 175 frames.

Gausman (14-5) allowed three runs on eight hits and no walks with nine strikeouts through six innings, picking up the win in Saturday's 15-4 victory over the Cubs.

EDGE Analysis

Gausman was rock solid yet again Saturday, as he yielded three runs in his first three innings but settled in over the next three to pick up the quality start. While the eight hits might strike the eye as a sizable number, half of them didn't leave the infield. The right-hander has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in nine straight starts and has won his last five decisions. He figures to pitch next Thursday against the Padres.

Gausman (13-5) picked up a win after tossing seven innings of three-run ball while giving up five hits, walking one and striking out nine against the Rockies on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

The 30-year-old was effective in this one while limiting the Rockies to only three runs at the challenging venue of Coors Field. Ryan McMahon and Garrett Hampson each hit solo home runs off the veteran and Charlie Blackmon tripled in the other run charged to Gausman in the start. Gausman has now rattled off eight consecutive starts where he has surrendered three or less runs, picking up four wins along the way. He is expected to start next on Saturday in Chicago against the Cubs.

Gausman didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Brewers after tossing five innings of two-run ball, allowing four hits and a walk while fanning seven.

EDGE Analysis

Gausman gave up a two-run single to Lorenzo Cain in the second inning, but he was excellent the rest of the way. While he finished three outs away from posting another quality start, it's worth noting that Gausman has given up three or fewer runs in each of his last seven appearances while pitching at least five frames in five of those contests. He owns a career-best 2.52 ERA and 1.01 WHIP through 157 innings on the season.
