Rockies placed RHP Juan Nicasio on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee strain.
Nicasio suffered the injury during Saturday's start. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Guillermo Moscoso has been recalled to take his spot on the roster and will also presumably take his spot in the rotation.

Updating a previous item, Juan Nicasio has been diagnosed with a strained left knee.
No word yet on the extent of the injury or how long he may be out. If he requires a stint on the disabled list, Carlos Torres or Guillermo Moscoso would be the most likely candidates to replace him in the Rockies rotation.

Juan Nicasio yielded one run in seven innings and struck out nine in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Saturday.
It matches Nicasio's longest outing of the season, and it's four more K's that he had had in any of his previous six starts. Nicasio isn't quite ready to be a consistent big-league starter, but he shows plenty of promise on the mound. Keeper leaguers may want to target him later this season.

Juan Nicasio allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks in just five innings of Sunday's loss to the Braves.
The disappointing day comes on the heels on back-to-back quality starts. Nicasio has hinted at every-start ability in mixed leagues, but remains far too inconsistent to be trusted on an every-outing basis, particularly at home. He'll bring a 5.35 ERA and 1.63 WHIP into his weekend start in Los Angeles.

Juan Nicasio gave up two runs in six innings in a 6-2 win over the Dodgers on Monday night.
Nicasio allowed nine hits and walked a pair, but he managed to minimize the damage. The only runs scored on a solo homer by Matt Kemp in the first and an RBI single by Juan Uribe in his final inning of work. The 25-year-old right-hander has a 4.40 ERA through five starts, but has allowed two runs or less in three of them. He's a good buy in deeper mixed formats.

Juan Nicasio yielded one run in 6 2/3 innings Wednesday in the Rockies' 2-1 victory over the Pirates.
Nicasio didn't figure into the decision. The Rockies finally got him a 1-0 lead in the top of the seventh, but that disappeared right away, as he gave up a homer to Pedro Alvarez in the bottom of the inning. Colorado ended up winning despite being outhit 9-3 on the afternoon. Both of the team's runs came on sac flies. Nicasio lowered his ERA to 4.76 with the performance.

Juan Nicasio picked up the win in Wednesday's 8-4 victory over the Padres despite allowing four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Nicasio did walk none while fanning five, but wasn't sharp for the second straight outing, surrendering a pair of home runs to Chase Headley. Now the owner of a 6.19 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 12/6 K/BB ratio through 16 innings, he'll still be a recommended play against the Pirates in Pittsburgh next week.
