Juan Nicasio picked up the win in Wednesday's 8-4 victory over the Padres despite allowing four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. Nicasio did walk none while fanning five, but wasn't sharp for the second straight outing, surrendering a pair of home runs to Chase Headley. Now the owner of a 6.19 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 12/6 K/BB ratio through 16 innings, he'll still be a recommended play against the Pirates in Pittsburgh next week.
