MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports that Juan Nicasio could be sent down to Triple-A Colorado.
Nicasio has managed three wins this season, but owns a 4.91 ERA and has struggled to pitch deep into games. With Jhoulys Chacin expected to be activated from the DL on Sunday, the Rockies will demote either Nicasio or Tyler Chatwood.

Juan Nicasio allowed two runs on three hits and was removed after 4 1/3 innings Sunday in his start against Diamondbacks.
Nicasio struggled with his control early and had to be pulled after working up a high pitch count. He gave up three walks and managed only three strikeouts. Nicasio will face the D-Backs again in his next start Friday in Arizona.

Juan Nicasio limited the Brewers to two runs through six innings Wednesday in the Rockies' win.
Nicasio wasn't dominant, but he was good enough to get the win. He allowed nine baserunners over his six innings, but the Brewers were only able to get to him in the third inning. If Nicasio didn't pitch half his games in Coors Field he might be an interesting name, but last we checked he still does.

Juan Nicasio allowed two runs on seven hits in five innings Sunday against the Brewers.
He gave up two walks and finished with four strikeouts. Nicasio has already secured a spot in the Rockies' Opening Day rotation and is likely slot as the No. 3 starter behind Jhoulys Chacin and Jorge De La Rosa. We like his mid 90s velocity, but his lack of a secondary pitch remains a concern going into the season.

Rockies manager Walt Weiss confirmed on Tuesday evening that Juan Nicasio has secured a spot in the Rockies' season-opening starting rotation.
Weiss also stated that the Rockies will be going back to a traditional five-man rotation, as opposed to the four-man setup that they employed at times during the 2012 campaign. Nicasio is likely to slot in third behind Jhoulys Chacin and Jorge De La Rosa, and could be worth a look as a spot starter in deeper mixed leagues for his matchups away from Coors Field.

Juan Nicasio held the Royals to one run over five frames Tuesday.
He gave up three hits, walked three and struck out four, with the lone tally coming in the form of a Mike Moustakas homer. Nicasio has an unappealing 5.28 ERA this spring, but he's tallied 13 strikeouts over 15 1/3 innings. He can't really be trusted at Coors Field, but he could be good enough to spot start on the road at times this season.

Juan Nicasio surrendered four runs in 3 2/3 innings on Saturday but the Rockies topped the Angels 8-6.
Nicasio gave up seven hits and issued a walk. He also struggled in his last outing and is now sporting a 6.97 ERA through 10 1/3 Cactus League frames. The 26-year-old right-hander seems doubtful to make a positive fantasy impact this season.

Juan Nicasio allowed three runs on four hits and three walks over three innings in Monday's loss to the Mariners.
He did strike out three, but it's the second time in three spring outings where Nicasio has really been fighting it. The right-hander possesses intriguing stuff, but he's nothing more than a late-round flier in fantasy drafts at this point.

Juan Nicasio spun two perfect innings in Thursday's Cactus League win over the Reds.
He struck out a pair of batters. Nicasio was facing a split-squad Reds lineup, but it's still a notable improvement over his first outing Sunday when he allowed four runs over 1 2/3 frames.
